I recently stayed four nights for a business function in Valladolid and found the hotel to be a very pleasant experience.

Rooms are surprisingly large and comfortable (I stayed in Room 11 on the ground floor equipped with two single beds) but are a little spartan with wooden flooring and light coloured walls. Sleep quality was good.

The bathroom is large with bath tub, bidet and double sink but no separate shower. The room had no view to speak of overlooking scrub and lawn.

As if often the case in Spain there are no tea and coffee making facilities in the room but what is sadly lacking and a pre requisite for a hotel claiming to be five star is an in room safe. That has prevented me from awarding a five star rating and I would have expected a safe in a Marriott property. .

The hotel is some way from the historic centre of Valladolid so maybe not ideal for tourists as there is nothing of interest in the vicinity and you need to order a taxi to go to the city. It was, however, ideal for a business trip or conference.

The gym and small indoor swimming pool were open and breakfast was quite nice albeit with no variation on a daily basis. I ate one night in the restaurant which was very good and good value for money.

Staff throughout the stay were charming and spoke enough English for overseas travellers and I would certainly stay again..

Response from psadtor, General Manager at AC Hotel Palacio de Santa Ana
Responded 24 Oct 2019
Dear customer, Thank you for choosing to stay at the AC Hotel Palacio de Santa Ana and providing your honest feedback that are always beneficial for our daily improvement. We don´t know when all this happenned but we have not news about it. The restaurant is open from 8.30pm to 11.30pm for dinner but we attend in the lounge area out of this times. The pool is only closed for maintenance functions but it was everyday opened in last weeks. And we have no news abot delays in assigment rooms in last weeks and all them have been prepared before the check-in time (3.00pm) everyday. TV has international channels of course but they are located in analogical mode as indicated at the directory instructions. We have 5 international channels from France, England, Germany,... Providing the highest level of hospitality is our number one priority and we sincerely apologize for the incidents in your stay experience, falling short of meeting your expectations. Therefore, and thanks to your comments, as a teachable moment, we have shared your feedback and we have already hard working with the appropriate hotel team to look responsibilities, to ensure the necessary guidelines are in place and to prevent it doesn’t happen again in the future. Once again, thank you for your valued feedback and we hope to serve you again whenever your travels bring you back to Valladolid and to apologize personally. Thank you very much for everything. Kind regards.

Hotel place near the river and nice park (sometimes the are a little smell of the river). Rooms are clean and enough big. From time to time the noise of neighbors' closing doors disturbe.
Staff was v.polite and helpfull and speak english.
In the hotel is swimingpool (it's ok for 1 person - for more is too small). Fitness room is small too near the swiming pool (in the same place/room separated by glass.
Breakfast is good in really nice place (shoud be from 7o'clock but sometime need wait 10min. Not possible to have a scrambled eggs (the have only automat, but eggs are very weak fried).
In front of hotel is a parking on which without any problem you can leave your car.

We stayed here on the way South from Bilbao to Madrid, the Hotel is conveniently located with plenty of outside parking and an underground garage. The room was spacious and very clean with lovely views of the river. The covered central courtyard was a nice place to have predinner drinks. We ate at in the house restaurant and the meal was enjoyable and well prepared.

We made use of the indoor swimming pool and gym . The pool is long enough for serious lap swimming.

We will definitely consider this a hotel next time we are heading to the Costa del Sol.

Five star hotel in the surroundings from Valladolid. A taxi is necessary to reach the City centre. Wide and comfortable rooms. Wide public areas. Fine breakfast. Correct restaurant. Indoors swimming pool. The hotel is built in the remains of an old monastery.
