I stayed at Dear Hotel for a week in January 2020.
I was in Madrid for business right outside the city but wanted to stay in the city to have walks and dinner in the city in the evenings. Commute time is reasonable for such a big city but you should take it into account. I had a rental car that I parked in the public parking under Plaza de España.
There is a lot to do and see from a walking distance but metro station.
The hotel is perfectly located, offers great view of the city on the restaurant's terrace.
I could not enjoy the swimming pool on the roof since it was too cold but I believe it can quickly become crowdy in the summer as the pool is not big at all.
Hotel staff is very nice, specially at the restaurant. Breakfeast food was nice and healthy.
My room was pleasant and nicely decorated and I was not annoyed by traffic or people outside despite being on second floor.
A wonderful experience here with my study abroad trip to Madrid. The staff spoke wonderful English. We had breakfast included every day and the host, Abraham, was wonderful with helping us order and recommending things to do in the city. The room was also great with two twin beds (great for sharing a room). Bottled water was also included each day with the room. When I come back, I will stay here!
This "Dear" boutique hotel is located nicely in Madrid to access all the central attractions by foot or transportation The staff were professional, attentive to needs and wants, clean, bright rooms.
The breakfast ,in a room with beautiful panaramic views of Madrid was delightful.
A big shout out to Jorge (waiter at breakfast) whose professionism, detail to service and pleasant personality made the trip one to remember (outside of the world pandemic). Thank you Dear Hotel!
This hotel was everything i was looking for. Don't be fooled by the simple reception because this hotel is really good. The room was just what i was looking for, it had some really nice touches and was thoughtfully furnished. The place doesn't try too hard to be cool, it just is!
I was greeted in my room by some nibbles and a balloon. Who doesn't like a balloon?! The toiletries were good and it had everything you'll need in terms of amenities. The bed was super comfy and the shower has a really good pressure of water.
Before you check in the hotel will email you to ask if you prefer a shower or bath and itll ask you loads of other questions to help tailor your stay to your needs. I thought that was an excellent thing to do.
I'd recommend going there when it is warm because it has a really good roof top bar with some excellent views. I'd also say that you should wait until the Plaza Espana has been finished (they are redoing it at the moment).
This hotel is also located on the edge of an up and coming area. It might be a bit dirty but you can tell that it has a vibe and it has some really great places to eat and drink. The area is called Malasana and Chueca. the area has cafes called Mision and HanSo which do great breakfasts.
The hotel is also right next to a Metro station so you can get to anywhere in Madrid from here, although I'd recommend walking area and enjoying the sights.
The location was ok, a bit hard to spot when you're driving in from another city but quite centrally located with a MET entrance right infront of the hotel.
The room was a decent size and well-furnished. Bed was super comfortable but could definitely do with more pillows. The roof top view is great, can imagine how popular it would be in summer. Highly recommended if you're travelling on holiday!
