We stayed here 2 times in December 2019 and in the beginning it seemed like a perfect place to come back to for our yearly trip to Rome. There were however, some issues of which one makes me not want to go back here.
The rooms were very modern, spacious and clean, the staff helpful and the laundry service surprisingly affordable. The free minibar is certainly a plus, as is the espresso machine and all other luxury add-ons in the rooms. There is no breakfast room, but breakfast is served to your room whenever you call for it, the only downside is that the breakfast is mostly the same thing every day. There was not much to complain though, overall we were happy here and close to so many important places, but one thing that happened made me publish this review as a 3 star instead of 5.
One evening, we were in our room and someone from the staff entered our room without knocking and disrupted a private moment (which I will not explain into detail here) and left the room quickly when she noticed. I was expecting an apology at least, but I never received an apology from this person or anyone else from the staff.
For our second stay we were given a free upgrade, but still no excuse from anyone.
Had this not happened I would've gone back though.
This little 6 room boutique hotel is a wonderful gem in the middle of busy Rome in a very safe area! The hotel is located on a pedestrian shopping street (coronari) which is a 5 minute walk from the famous Piazza Navona. There is great shopping, bakery, and quaint restaurants and grocery store within 5 min walk down the street. We stayed for 5 days and the owner and staff were wonderful and extremely helpful and accommodating!! Our room was on the second floor very nice size, quiet and peaceful at night. The bed was extremely comfortable, the shower was great, dual overhead rain head and a hand held, and endless hot water! We had an espresso machine and hot milk frothier which I used to make cappuccino every morning. Mini frig always filled each day with juices, milk, beer, water, all complimentary. Also they have 5 bikes for your use during your stay which we took advantage of everyday. As the hotel does not have a lift, they will bring your luggage to the room and they have a wonderful car service which is less expensive than a taxi. Could not ask for a better stay and location in Rome and highly recommend and would definitely stay again!
Our third visit to the place, and we like more every time we come back! Next time we go to Rome, we’ll stay there again! You’ll have everything you need to enjoy the best of Rome: a comfortable and spacious room, good bed, good shower, silence at night, perfect spot besides Piazza Navona. But above all, the people who’ll take care of you are amazing! Be sure they’ll make their best to guarantee your comfort.
One Wednesday night, my partner and I decided to book flights to Rome for the weekend. Luckily, Casa De Coronari was available (as we only booked 2 days in advance). From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed. Every single member of the family running this casa is fantastic and always at hand to answer any questions/issues you may have. The location was just perfect. The room was lovely, spacious and very well-thought of. On our first night, we were so tired, we didn't even notice the external shutters. It was a Saturday night and we were facing the main street. We could hardly sleep as the noise was piercing through the windows. Though, on the second night we did manage to close the shutters and, thus, the noise levels decreased immensely! Breakfast is brought to your room: Fresh fruit, pastries (SUPER YUMMY!), bread, etc. The fridge is nicely stocked with complimentary drinks (beer, water, fruit juice, milk). The Nespresso machine with milk frother is great so you can prepare your own coffee (pods are also provided!). All in all, I would not hesitate to book your stay at Casa de Coronari. If I ever go back to Rome...I know where we'll be staying!
We recently stayed in a suite at Casa de' Coronari which is just around the corner from the premises on Via Dei Coronari. The suite was very swish, impeccably clean and had a free minibar which included beers, juice and bottles of water. There was also everything you need to make coffees and teas.
The bed was enormous and very comfortable with a large shower (probably more suitable for couples than friends as you can see into the shower from the bed...!).
The location was perfect - right behind Piazza Navona and very close to the beautiful Museo Nazionale Romano and the Pantheon, to name just a couple of nearby attractions. As the suites were located in a building on a smaller side road they were also a little bit away from the hubbub so you can get a good night's sleep.
The hotel staff were charming and incredibly helpful. They arranged for their car to take us to the airport for our very early flight (4.45am pick-up time) at a lower cost than a local taxi.
We had a wonderful stay and would heartily recommend Casa de' Coronari. It's definitely where we will stay when we next return to Rome!
