The B&B is located relatively close to the Vatican. The staff is professional and welcoming. The bedroom and bathroom were clean and comfortable. The breakfast included pastries, fruit, coffee and juice. It was a good balance of value/comfort for us. If you are looking for an affordable place to stay in a safe neighborhood in Rome, this is an excellent choice.
This place is really nice, the host was friendly, there is a range of breakfast foods available whether you like. Oh and one of those capsule coffee machines, with coffee pods as you want them. My girlfriend really liked that!
Room was nice, had good AC, was cleaned every day, had a fridge (really nice thing to have!), Good comfortable bed.
It's a short walk from the metro, oh on the way to the metro station, there is an underground patisserie. Go there, for lunches they have good Panini's and such, just go check it out.
Oh and why teenage mutant hero turtles?
The 4 rooms were labeled Donatello, meachelangelo, Raphaello and Leonardo.
Well I found it amusing anyway.
Good If you are looking to stay out of the main Rome bustle and in a quieter and safer area. It is an approximately 8min walk from the closest metro (Ottaviano) which is 5 station stops from the main terminal- Termini which can seem long at the end of a touring day.
The B&B is a 15 minute walk from the Vatican and from Castel Saint Angelo. There is a quaint Italian restaurant around the corner from the B&B (recommended to us by our host- Giacomelli Pizzeria- loved the carbonara). Otherwise, you can grab a bite around the Ottaviano metro. There is a coffee shop right next door at street level which was open early (at least at 7:30) and was usually just closing up when we got back around 20:30.
The host was very nice upon our arrival. We did not see him the rest of our stay but the room was cleaned every day with fresh towels and linens. The small kitchen area boasts a microwave, toaster and sink and the snacks and juice are available 24/7 which is convenient. (See pictures). Available for breakfast and or snacking are: fruit, packaged sweets (croissants, cookies, crackers...) bread and jam, cereal and milk. There was an nespresso Machine but I couldn't get the it to work as it appeared not to be functioning.
Our room was across the hall from our bathroom but I believe other rooms have the bathroom inside the actual room. The bed was very big and comfortable. We had a small balcony, tv, closet, chair and table in the room. The bathroom even had a hairdryer. All doors lock and the building itself has two separate keys to access the appartment areas (btw don't panic if you have trouble opening the second door, you have to jiggle it as the lock is finicky)
I didn't take a picture of the outside, but look for other posts to see it. I thought it was helpful when we walked up since it just looks like any other building and you do have to buzz the door the first time you arrive.
Hope this helps.
