We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Seaview apartment. This stay was all about the location. The 100+ stairs to our apartment were part of the adventure. We would recommend using the bag transfer system from the train station for a nominal fee, it was well worth it. Upon arrival, we were in awe of the panoramic view of Vernazza. We absolutely loved the gorgeous views from our expansive private terrace. The room was agreeable, it met our needs perfectly, just as described. It was an adequate place to rest after a day hiking the Cinque Terre trail and a day spent boating on the Ligurian Sea. We would surely stay here again.
We stayed in the room on the top of the hill and loved it. It is tiny and the bathroom is tiny. However, as so many of the reviews say, the secludedness, the huge balcony, and views make it more than worth staying in a small room. We are light packers and only had backpacks with us so we didn't mind the climb of the hill and the stairs to the room. I know this would be an issue for some people, but it wasn't for us. Just know what you are getting into. So for the negatives: the climb up the hill and up the stairs, the smallness of the room, the tiny shower, and the bedding is in need of changing. I just put those out there for your info, however as I said the positives more than make up for the negatives. Now for the positives: Location, location, location and views, views, views. It's at the top of the hill right on the trail that runs between the villages. There are no other rooms near it. It's completely secluded. The balcony is huge and overlooks the village and the ocean. It's a beautiful place to sit outside and drink a glass of wine in the evening or a cup of cappuccino in the morning. If you can live with the other things, you can't go wrong with this balcony. The price is right and the communication from the owners is great as well. Go for it and you'll be glad you did.
If you do your homework and plan ahead, it is possible to make your stay in Vernazza very wonderful and relaxing.
Come for the views, the hiking, the joy of exploration, the beauty of the town and the slower pace of life.
If you need a butler or bell hop, stay in Monterosso.
These room rentals are very basic, but perfectly adequate. Our terrace had a gorgeous view. The shower was wonderful after our day hike adventures.
Good food, wine and gelato are easy to come by.
We did our research and took only backpacks, no luggage. We had the bigger of their rooms with private terrace. View of Vernazza and the Ligurian Sea cannot be beaten. Room had a table and chairs, fridge, cutlery and plates. Outdoor sink to do dishes in, bathroom down a spiral staircase. Having an escape from the crowds to see the sunset is worth the price. It was our best sunset in our two week trip to Italy. Must be fit to climb the hill to this view. Not for everyone.
We really enjoyed our stay at rooms la torre. Regardless of what other reviewers have said we found the rooms perfect for what we needed: a large terrace with table and chairs to eat and drink at, sun chairs, best view in town and a bed to sleep in. The room is small but we really only used it for sleeping as it is so hot that we spend most days and evenings on the terrace under the sunshade. The town of Vernazza gets really busy with tourists so we felt very fortunate to have our very own picturesque escape from the crowds in the middle of the day.
