Our family of 8 stayed in two adjoining apartments at Testa Doro for three nights.
The location of this apartment is excellent being just near the Rialto Bridge and vaporetto stop. This also meant it was quite noisy. We were supplied with earplugs but on Saturday the band was very loud at the bar downstairs.
Both apartments were large with comfortable beds and bedding but our apartment had a shower over the bath (good for the baby not good for the 70 year old) so we used the other bathroom in the other apartment.
We had a large table with six chairs in our apartment but only a two seater couch in the lounge.
The other apartment had been fully renovated and had a three seater couch and a table for four with a modern kitchen.
Both units had washing machines on the kitchen.
It was the kitchen that let this down a bit - no toaster and little room to prepare meals.
The worst part was the steep flight of stairs up to the first floor apartments. We couldn’t bring the baby up in the pram - had to leave the pram downstairs in the entrance way. It was fine there- secure and dry.
We were met by Yuri and Linda at the vaporetto stop, who went through how to use things in the apartment and where things were locally.
As I said location was excellent - you could literally walk everywhere easily including to St Marks Square and Fondamenta Nuovo to catch the vaporetto to Murano and burano.
I wouldn’t stay at Testa D’Oro again purely because of the steep stairs but for someone younger they wouldn’t be such a problem.

We traveled to Venice October 2019 and had pre-booked on booking.com and this apartment and central location was absolutely brilliant. Being met at the Rialto vaporetto stop by Francesco was excellent. He helped with our luggage took us to the apartment and explained all we needed to know including restaurant recommendations, local supermarket etc., and the best way to walk to the ferry stop to go to Murano and Burano for the day without the rush of the tours - best advice ever! Would highly recommend as this 2 bedroom apartment was large, clean and equipped with dishwasher, washing machine and breakfast provisions. Just perfect for walking almost everywhere in Venice - Fabulous!!!

Stayed in Testa D’Oro 2 last week with my husband and 2 teens for 3 nights. Booked direct with the owners and had a choice of apartment. The apartment was perfect for a 3 night stay and had email correspondence regularly. We were met at Rialto vaporetto stop with a minute’s walk to the apartment. It was spacious, (great aircon), spotlessly clean with a double room, twin room, and a kitchenette with tea, coffee provided. Towels were also provided, basically everything you could want for a stay with only cabin baggage. Overall, I was really pleased with my choice. Such a great spot to stay as right by Rialto bridge. Two flights of fairly uneven steps to the apartment so may not be great for mobility sufferers but not a problem for us. We loved it!!!
