Stayed two nights. Rooms were spacious, had comfortable beds. Clean and modern bathrooms. Beautiful balcony with flowers and a sitting area. Staff were extremely helpful and went out of their way to accommodate us. Breakfast cappuccinos were great. The dining room had a homey feel. Walking distance to train station. A 15-minute walk from the historic centre. Thanks Crispi Rooms - we would definitely stay here again!
The room was very good, with a balcony and a big bed (and air-conditioner!). The bathroom was also very nice. Wi-fi wasn't great, but you could get a connection.
The location is great, near Catania Centrale station and Piazza del Duomo, but it gets very scary at night — maybe you could go around (we just stayed one night so we don't know), but the neighborhood we crossed was very... questionable.
The breakfast isn't great, but the juice and the coffee are good.
The location was near the train station but a bit far from the historic center. The room smelled like someone had smoked there and the leather parts of the bed smelled cigarettes. The breakfast was poor, a coffee and plastic packed savouries.
The hotel is situated 5 minutes on foot from the railway station/bus station. In less than 10 minutes you are at the Teatro Massimo Bellini and 10 extra minutes you are in the town centre.
The hotel is in a quiet and unmodernised district. The entrance hall leads to a flight of stairs to reach the first floor. There is no lift.
The receptionist is very friendly and helpful. She speaks Italian and a few words of English. She does her best to communicate with you.
The inside of the hotel has been modernised and is very clean. Our room was large with access to a terrasse with garden furniture. Ideal for a rest.
The furniture is modest/basic but there is everything you need: large bed with firm mattress, 2 bed side tables with lamps, a table, 2 chairs, a wardrobe, a fridge and a TV.
The bathroom is fine with shower, WC, bidet, sink, mirror and hair dryer.
Both room and bathroom are clean.
Breakfast is disappointing as there is not much on offer but this gives you a good excuse to stop in a pasticceria when in the town centre.
The bedroom was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with an excellent bed. The bathroom was clean, with plenty of hot water. The room gave onto a lovely terrazzo where we had our evening aperitovos. Our host, la signora Anna, was gracious and helpful in every way. Crispi Rooms is located conveniently: it is a short walk from the bus/train station, as well as from the central Duomo piazza. A great bang for the buck.
