The room was well presented and nicely prepared. The bed and bathroom were excellent. Stayed in February and the heating was just right. The breakfast choice was good and the serive was fine. Staff were helpful with cheeking in and out.

Very friendly and helpful. Comfortable room but very hot! They didn't do meals on a Sunday evening but pointed me in the direction of a very good Indian restaurant nearby. Reasonable value for money, and well positioned for the centre of town.

It’s unfortunate that this fifteenth century coaching inn has had some bad press over the years, and in all honesty, some has indeed been deserved. However, we must speak as we find and put the past behind us. I recently booked the hotel suite for my daughter and son-in-law over Christmas 2019 period, collected the keys myself as arranged @ 14.00 on Christmas Eve. After inspecting the suite I was super impressed with the cleanness of the room, tea & coffee making facilities etc, etc.... Breakfast was of a good standard, the staff overall very friendly and helpful. If I had a complaint – we had to ask the staff to switch the heating on twice (on arrival and again the follow morning) for some reason it had gone off. This was done immediately and the room heated up quickly, not spoiling the overall stay. You have to take on-board the coaching inn is centrally located in the small town of Harleston, and as I have already said, competitively priced considering its location! The cosy bar has a big open fire burning throughout the winter months, and a great atmosphere, the town is superbly decorated during the festive period.
The suite and fourposter rooms are great! Bar can sometimes be a little noisy, so don't book rooms above the bar when they have an event on.
Would we stay here again????? .........Yes of course - Love the hotel and LOVE the town!

We celebrated our Golden Wedding at the Ship Hotel, 50 years after we had our honeymoon there. The hotel bedrooms have been tastefully modernised since then, without losing its character and exposed beams.

We stayed two nights and the breakfasts were superb. Our bedroom was lovely, it was not the room we had 50 years ago, but we were shown the bedroom we had on our honeymoon. On arrival in our room, on our bed was a 50th anniversary card from the staff. When we came of our room on the morning of our anniversary, the staff sang Happy Anniversary. What more could we ask?

We had a family meal in the restaurant and all found the food excellent. at the Ship Hotel with plenty of choice

All in all we had we had a wonderful Golden Anniversary at the Ship Hotel with lovely memories.for us to take forward.

Rather old fashioned hotel in need of refurbishment, however what it lacks in terms of decor, it makes up for with friendly good service and a great breakfast. We were walking the Angles Way and a family room was a cheap option. When we were struggling to get a taxi to Diss, the owner very kindly offered us a lift as she was going there.
