I stayed in room 320 during this business trip and was not feeling that the hotel receptionists during my entire stay, especially during Monday (27 Jan) afternoon that checked me out from the hotel (interrogations style) and the spa receptionist during Sunday (26 Jan) evening was so genuine, respectful and at their top levels to me as a hotel guest. I felt like I was less welcomed than a regular middle age white male (checked in before). But was greeted well from Asians cleaning staffs in the pool area. Also was very well taken of by the bartender in the restaurant during Sunday evening where I ordered a hamburger, dessert, a glass Prosecco and a cognac. Hamburger was too salty though. And the sparkling wine glass was so short and not at all beautiful to look at. One would expect a hotel with famous artist like this to perform better.
This hotel is very large and exciting. Partly owned by Per Gessle (Roxette) who invested a lot of money to make it a really good hotel. Diverse interior environments that blend new modern style with old classic. Large interesting permanent exhibition of large photographs of world famous people taken by world famous photographers (you can buy some items). This hotel has basically everything you could wish for. It is very clean and tidy. We lived in a standard room, but the rooms are in different categories regarding size and price. There are actually 4 different restaurants in the hotel (which are however open different times of the year) and of course a magnificent large bar. The food is of high quality and has a normal price. There is also a well known big good dance night club. The breakfast is exclusively good and nothing is missing. In the summer you can sit on the outdoor terrace or take a walk along the sea shore and of course swim or use the hotel pool. We will gladly come here again. Would like to mention that it is often a problem to book a room if there is a short time left, so you should book at least 4-5 weeks in advance.

This is a very cool hotel in the most beautiful surroundings in the South of Sweden. Even my 80-years old mother is in love with it, although the place is very rock'n roll! We own a beach house around 15 minutes driving from the hotel, so the Tylösand is our go-to for a massage, a drink and some food or just to hang out. We love the hotel, which thankfully is open all-year round, for its relaxed style, great music, good restaurants, extraordinary photo art and book shop and often very friendly staff. Over the years we have also had friends and family from both Switzerland and Sweden stay at the Tylösand on our recommendation. My sister and her partner in particular have come here many times, usually booking more than one of the pricey rooms for their crowd. And here comes a "but": While such kind of loyalty would be valued or at least recognized by good hotels in other parts of the world, unfortunately the Tylösand does not notice this or pay attention. This means, for instance, no address data seem to be on file (or staff is too busy to check), no welcome-back note is on the room (just as a nice gesture for repeater guests), and generally complicated behavior is displayed in case of simple wishes (e.g. due to a room change at the request of the hotel, purchases could not be booked to the room - the spa lady would not even take a note and have the guest come back and pay later). We've had similar feedback from other friends staying there, and have noticed the slight "don't care, too busy" attitude ourselves, especially during high season. This may be complaining on a high level, and in all fairness I think the hotel is well managed given the incredible number of guests and party people visiting the Tylösand every day in the summer months. Nevertheless it‘s these details that show that you really care about your customers and not just mean business. I‘m pretty hopeful though that this will improve as overall the Tylösand keeps getting even better every year!
Our stay at Hotel Tylösand was fantastic. My wife and I came here to relax for a few days after my wife got a knee replaced in Halmstad. Our Beach Suite was great with a beutiful panoramic view of the Tylösand beach. I really enjoyed the gym and spa facilities. The biggest spa robe was however way too small for a high and mighty man like me 😜.
Restaurant and reception service was impeccable and staff was extremely friendly.
