It is located next to a modern bridge that joins together two severed by a sea gulf parts of the land of the city. The gulf is schemed as a wide river entering inside the city. Perfect view from the hotel, at least from my room, to this sea gulf and the bridge. A few personnel' staffed hotel, friendly, a small breakfast room but offering almost everything expected for a breakfast, a newly decorated, are some of the features of the hotel. A problem is that it does not offer a meal (as I understood), surely it does not offer a dinner and this is a problem as there are no restaurants or markets in the nearby area. My room, despite it was a bit small, it was clean. Maybe a chair was needed, as there were only an armchair and a stood therein. The bath needed some repair, i.e. there was only a glass wall instead of three in need to close the bath as a distinct part from the whole bathroom.
You have to walk at about 200 meters to the station of tram number 9 that takes you, with frequent routes, directly to the central rail station where is also the center of the town, an about 10 - 15 minutes route. Also, tram 8, outside of the hotel takes you to other attractions from a different of tram 9 route, parts of the town.
The price of stay could have been a bit lower.
We chose this hotel because a friend of mine lives nearby on Ruoholahti.
Location was good, calm and quiet. Tram stops right on front of the hotel and metro station (Ruoholahti) is also within walking distance.
We booked a room for 3 people (kids 12 and 5 + myself). To our suprise The room had only one (kingsize) bed. Well, we did fit all on it but nor quite what I expected. Might want to double check your reservation with the hotel if you travel with family.
Since we arrived late, there was no staff to complain to. Plus feature was that late check-in is possible and very easy.
Breakfast was good and we did enjoy our visit.
I believe this hotel should be the best hotel in Helsinki, all factors considered.
While the price being very reasonable, the hotel is very clean and cozy.
Because I had freezing nights when I stayed in Norway some while ago, I was worried about the hotels in Helsinki.
But the worry proved to be pointless.
It is so warm and quiet inside the room.
Even though it is right beside a tram route, you don't hear anything.
The breakfast is simple but very tasty.
The croissants were lovely.
The staff is friendly and helpful.
I found the safe in the room out of order, and reported it to the staff in the morning.
When I got back in the afternoon, it was already fixed.
The bed is small but very comfortable.
Furniture is modern and very functional.
Wi-fi is generously speedy.
All and all, everything is satisfactory.
If you read through my reviews, you would know that I am quite picky with hotel rooms.
So, you would know how satisfied I am with this one.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Helsinki.
Great location, the room was large and clean with a nice sea view. The bed was really comfortable. Also friendly and helpful staff and nice breakfast. Highly recommend Aida Hotel to anyone visiting Helsinki.
A small, but nice and clean hotel close to the ferry terminal.
Only downside was that breakfast was not served until 8.00 am - which where too late before we had to check out.
Reception also did not open until 8, so no one to receive room key
