The property sounded idea, somewhere to relax watch the world go by and enjoy a couple of peaceful evenings in good surroundings. You cannot kook out of the windows they are high and face a brick wall!! We were in the Blenheim suite and I have to agree with Andrew415 it is a dark room. to find out what the weather is like you need to go outside. Beware that the towels are only changed every two days so after our first night the maid simply picked up our towels from the floor, where you normally leave them if you want them changed, and hung them back on the door!!! after a couple of phone calls I did get them changed. Only two coffee sachets on arrival so if you want coffee on the first night you do not get coffee in the morning.Small fridge is useful but not on the floor, you need to get on hands and knees to see whats in the fridge. All sounds petty but I expected better from the details!
Certainly not the "four star" treatment you expect. i agree parking is on the street outside and in Minehead in the summer that may be difficult.
Sorry its a good idea but for us it did not work, back to a good old b&b next time.
Stayed at the Beachside 6/7 July after booking through Booking.com. The room was Blenheim suite on the ground floor. The room was very clean and comfortable with good quality furniture. The bathroom was of adequate size with all facilities. Breakfast was good.My only criticism of the room is it is very dark with only two small high level windows overlooking a large wall. You needed artificial lights on all the time. Also which is miss leading is the parking is on the public highway which was very limited. We left our car there as we was worried of loosing our space. There is no off road private parking.
Lovely big room to relax in after miles on SW Coast Path! Easy free parking, well equipped, healthy breakfast. Very clean, warm and so much nicer than an anonymous Travel Inn or Premier Inn! Recommended to all SW Coastal Path walkers.
Stayed here for 2 nights with a colleague. Both rooms were really nicely decorated and had everything you might require. Love the fact you have a continental style breakfast in your room so you can eat what and when you want. Having a pint of milk in a little fridge was so much nicer for making tea than the usual little milk pots hotels give you. The yoghurt and fruit was lovely too. Will definitely stay here again.
we stayed at the beech side suites for 3 nights and stayed in the harbour suite. on arrival we was greeted by the owner a very nice man and friendly. the accommodation itself is basic but very close to the beech front and harbour. the continental breakfast in the room is adequate . the central heating was a bit of a hit and miss and seemed to come on only for a limited time. the owner provides a little heater for the room but this was not much use . parking spaces are limited only 2 spaces actually on the property you can use. parking on the side road can be difficult as it seems the locals park there to avoid parking charges. the owner tells you the rooms are cleaned out at 10am . one morning we was a little late leaving the room so breakfast was dumped outside the door and room not made up also only about half the amount of food was left us. the room itself is average with double bed fridge small seating area and bathroom. overall an average stay in a nice town
