Such a lovely place to stay. Our appartment in this historic property was a joy, very comfortable, beautifully furnished and utterly charming. There is much to see and do within a 30 minute drive Spoleto, Montefalco, Assisi just three places to be explored, equally this is a great place to do nothing much, so grab a coffee, walk across the garden, duck under the fig tree, sit down by the pool and take in the breathtaking view of the countryside below, oh and the lovely food and good local wine, devine! Diane and Alberto are charming helpful hosts and we will return so yes highly recommended.
Our family had a wonderful two weeks at Le Logge the care and attention that Diana and Alberto have applied to the house and gardens is plain to see. Their help and advice throughout our stay was very much appreciated enabling us to visit some beautiful towns and villages and eat at excellent restaurants.
We relaxed at Le Logge on many days around the swimming pool and certainly re charged our batteries for the Autumn and Winter that awaits us in England!
Many thanks Diana and Alberto for making this a wonderful relaxing holiday.
There was really no better way for us (three adults and one 13 year old child) to explore Umbria than by staying at Diana and Alberto's 'Le Logge di Silvignano'! The Logge is situated on a hill side with a spectacular view from the swimming pool on the valley. It is the best place to seek refuge after an hectic period or as an escape from the daily grind at home. Diana en Alberto succeeded in creating a little paradise with a collection of beautiful and roomy apartments around a lush garden with fruit trees, lavender and rosemary. They welcomed us in such a warm way we never wanted to leave. Diane gave us a lot of wonderful tips for visiting the villages around Silvignano and Alberto managed to bake us two delicious cakes with handpicked fruit in just one week!
We visited L'Alchimista, a restaurant in the heart of Montefalco, twice in our week on Diana and Alberto's recommendation, and it was really amazing. We felt totally blessed. We will return for sure!
We booked Logge di Silvignano suite having fallen in love with the pictures on Trip Avisor.
Alberto and Diane are great; their local information was so useful...from places to visit to local butchers and restaurants of where to get the best food.
The suite we stayed in was beautiful and had a wonderful terrace to enjoy the view. We were lucky enough to be upgraded!
Things that made it extra special:
- a breakfast hamper (including homemade cake and homemade jam)
- two sets of towels (one set for the pool and one for the bathroom)
- impressively restored building and grounds
- good quality bed linen and lots of pillows
- fly guards on all the windows
The views and gardens are so well looked after. We really felt relaxed and were able to really take a break from a busy year
We would both highly recommend this place to anybody. Have a look at their website and drop them an email if you're interested.
Thank you Alberto and Diane
Diana and Alberto are amazing!
I spent hours and hours researching which town/area we would choose as our home base for exploring Umbria and friends had recommended Spoleto, and so without knowing just how close to town Le Logge was, the photos and grounds and other reviews sold us, and we were justly rewarded..
We loved that it was up into the mountainous area about 15 drive from Spoleto proper.. super quiet, lots of stars, and away from the tourist vibe of town..
We arrived like all to a warm cake fresh out of the oven..
We met our lovely hosts who engaged us with all the charm and warmth your own family or favorite aunt and uncle would..
the both spent an hour with us going over maps, restaurants, directions, towns, sites etc.. so helpful and kind!!
Then as a true B&B, left us to our own devices.. Always around if needed but gave plenty of space to enjoy the peaceful vibe of the property..
our suite, "Archi" was on ground level, which ultimately I decided I enjoyed more than the other suite with private patio that had already been booked. Bathroom was suitable, also pretty well equipped kitchen for those who may decide to buy groceries and cook.. Stove top only- we ate out in any case.. Good size closet, two couches and both a coffee and dining table.. Wifi was spotty with heavy stone walls, but we were happy to shut down devices as well. Only unavoidable issue with this room is the main window next to our bed faced the little path of where you have to walk entering and exiting the B&B, which wasn't too bad, more the house next door had construction that started before 7am one day.. out of anyone's control though.. Bed was not great, sheets were on the rough side, this would be my only moderate complaint.
We had a little table with chairs set up outside our room, which we used to enjoy formaggi and wine for sunsets.. And allowed us to easily walk out into the garden for star gazing etc..
The gardens are amazing.. truly the view is spectacular! too cool to swim in unheated pool, but we were off on mad adventures all day anyway.. If you by chance do a light load of laundry- which I was not charged for, be aware there is no dryer.
Overall very gracious hosts and as we pre-paid and booked directly, got a great price ahead of the real high-season that starts more in mid July..
Molte Grazie! - Matthew and Jodi!
