There were several of us working in Sønderborg, and we were all staying in this hotel. Every one of us had a different and lovely room. Some have balconies. There is no transfer of noise between rooms or from the hall. It's just a walk of a couple minutes down to the water. Buffet style breakfast is varied and plentiful.
Sonderborg Town is a delight - clean, tidy, orderly and with an air of 'class' - a description that comfortably matches that for the Hotel Garni. Well situated for the town, public transport (on the last day we walked to the station, no more than 20 mins), the beach and Marina. The room was comfy and well equipped, some form of net curtain may have saved blushes as we overlooked another property and was very clean. Breakfast was a delight, not just with the food but the views from the panoramic breakfast room. Nice, helpful staff...would happily recommend to others
Stay here. Clean, quiet and nice, with a wonderful view, both from the room, breakfast area and the nearby streets.
Buffet style continental breakfast with fresh bread, cereals and juice. Nothing fancy, but what one wants.
They bill themselves as 4 stars. Over rated and over priced. Definitely 2 stars. No face soap in bathroom, no cover on the duvet like sleeping on dirty sheets, only one person working at front desk doing everything, no help with luggage, no mini fridge, no drinking glasses, no bottled water, no thermostat in room, no air conditioning.
All ok for a 2 star hotel at 78 euro but definitely a rip-off at 225 euro. Keep far away!!!
Very nice hotel, staff very friendly.Ideal for walking into the town.Standard room was quite small with quite a small bathroom. The setting from the bedroom is quite stunning.
No tea making facilities in the bedrooms.
