I stayed at the Hotel Postgaarden during a business trip to Fredericia.

I arrived after 11pm and had to ring the night porter number but my key was waiting for me and I was quickly shown where breakfast would be and then to my room. The young lady spoke perfect English and was very pleasant.

The room and bathroom were clean. The bed was comfortable with various pillow options. Shower was strong and hot. Even though my room faced the road and the window was open there was no noise.

Breakfast was great with a buffet style and loads to choice from cold cuts to croissants.

Would stay again.

Stayed there with work. It is very centrally located to the center of the city. The place seems like a historic landmark and it is like stepping back in time when you enter the hotel and the room. The service at the reception was nice and polite. The room was not that attractive, but the bed was ok. Breakfast ok. So it is hard to recommend this place, but you will get a bed, something to eat and a bathroom.

If you are in to staying over at a B&B that looks like your Grandma’s living room, then this is your place...

Front desk staff were friendly and helpful, but cannot say the same about the rest of the staff I ran into.

Breakfast was ok.

Room was just ok. Very, very dated and my bed was noisy.

There are teapots everywhere. This I must say was neat and brought me back to my Grandmother’s tea set. Some great memories.

Overall, just ok stay, but close to everything.

I came there in the afternoon, 70 year old woman, travelling alone as I often do. I had asked for lower floors in my mail to the hotel.
The hotel looked lovely, when I came in, but there were no welcoming in the lobby. Just a young serious girl, who wanted me to pay the night right away, which I did. I say a computer and a chair and mentioned that I was happy that they had one, but she didn´t say anything about my remark but later when I was going to the computer, it was out of order and had been for a long time. The girl let me have a key and I got a room on ground floor, as far as it was possible to put me.A mistake of me to accept it in the first place, because I never stay in ground floors, when travelling alone. The room was cosy with many beautiful paintings, still not so nice bathroom, looking very old but I could manage that. When I was in the room, someone tried to come into the room and a man walked by, close to the window and I felt bad about that and had to pull the curtains together. It was no view in this part of the hotel, but the hotel did not have many customers this day. When I went out I told the girl in the lobby, that I was unpleaced with that someone tried to come into my room, I was on ground floor and that she didn´t tell me that the computer was out of order, when I told her how fine it was to be able to go to a computer. When I came back from town, I decided to have a dinner in the hotel and choose a dinner for 168 DK. a day offer 2 peace from a menu. The old dinner room is very big and lovely so I was pleased with my choice. The food was exellent both the main course and the desert, the service was fine and I did not order any drink But it was water on my table and I maybe had one little glass with the meal. It was only me and one couple eating in the dinner room, but a friendly elder man had just finished his meal when I attended and I think he was connected to the hotel, as a worker or a friend of the hotel. Then I was going to stay a little longer in a living room with a lot of antics and fine paintings. But then the young girl brought me the bill and the bill was over 200 DK and I told her this was not the amount I had read from the menu and I had to repeat it again and again and she mentioned the water costed 15 DK and still it was not 200 DK and I god sad over being there and asked for help about the bill and I told her this was not right and I didn´t want to pay the bill at this moment and told her that she had to listen to me and grow up, if she was managing things like this. Then she started crying and went to the kitchen. And then a new lady came insight, totally upset and rushed to me close up to my face and told me that I had been harrising this girl all day and she wanted to call the police. Her behavior was very aggresive and dangerous and I saw that I only had to do nothing, so things didn´t go worse. All the ladies in the hotel, seem to work in the kitchen, but no-one seemed to belong to the lobby and when this woman had threaten me for some time, I could set down and asked one of the ladies, which did not save me from this person, to give me a phone number to a man who was in charge in the hotel. I phoned him and he was in his home in another town and couldn´t come to solve things in the hotel, where I was having my lesson with 4 woman, which wanted me to pay for the meal, a wrong bill and they let this violent woman threaten me, as a guest of the hotel. A hotel which writes in a book for the guests, in the room, that they want to serve their guests with the heart. I was obviously not that kind of guest and the next morning, the man in charge did not speak to me, when I was paying my bill 168 DK and having my breakfast, before I went home to Iceland from Billund Airport.
