Its Covid time! We had both been working hard and just wanted an escape with something more than just another hotel room with a communal swimming pool. We have always loved the Northern Rivers district of NSW. We wanted seclusion. We found it!!! We stayed in one of the Mountain View Lodges. Just magical, intimate and serene. A huge apartment surrounded by nothing other than rainforest. A lap pool (although when we stayed it was a bit chilly for that), a spa bath, open plan everything, including the bathroom and a toilet in our unit that sprayed everything. We opted to take the meal deal for every breakfast and 2 dinners. The food was just restaurant quality superb, even though you had to heat it yourself and we often had so much, we carried it over to the next day. We had a couple of minor logistical issues. These were fixed within minutes. The team at the Retreat (especially the Manager "Mark") stand out as being genuinely interested in not only assisting you with your immediate enquiry, but made unexpected additional suggestions as opposed to our experiences at other hotels. We a have already booked to go back so that we can simply de-stress!!!

Stayed 2 nights. Truely amazing luxury resort set among the bush.

We stayed in the Byron which is designated a mountain lodge. It has spectacular views over the rain forest to the mountains.

The lodge is spectacular in its fittings and furnishings with timber, marble , and glass everywhere. The lodge is huge as well. It rivals some of the best lodges we have stayed in South Africa, minus the lions etc.

Loved the plunge pool overlooking the mountains.

And sitting on the glorious deck as the sun goes down with a wine over dinner in the tranquility and isolation of the bush was wonderful.

It is very quiet and peaceful; perfect place to relax and unwind.

The walks are excellent as well.

A truely wonderful experience.

From the moment we arrived we were relaxed! Beautiful lodge with quality furnishings and a setting that is totally private. Nestled into the bush there was no need to go anywhere else all weekend! There is of course beautiful bush walks along the creek and interesting paths to follow if you can drag yourself away! The plunge pool was inviting, the bed comfortable, the lounge superb and the food delicious. The dinner BBQ package was ample and fantastic quality with local produce. This was our third visit and won’t be our last! A bath at sunrise was luxurious.

We spent five nights at the Crystal Creek Rainforest Retreat in The Luxury Rainforest Lodge. The lodge was so private and the outlook into the rain forest was just magical. One of the best things was relaxing in the heated pool surrounded by the sounds and fresh smell of the rainforest. We had dinners delivered to our lodge every night. Every dish was excellent and the portions so generous, we had enough for lunch the next day! Mark and Janelle went out of their way to make us feel relaxed and comfortable. All in all, it was just the best experience. We will definitely be back!

We stayed here for 4 nights in a mountain view with plunge pool. I can’t say enough to really convey how special this place is. The cabins are set completely immersed in stunning nature. They are secluded and private and serenely quiet. The facilities are modern, luxurious top quality. It’s clean, comfortable and well accommodating for all your basic needs. It’s so relaxing and therapeutic here that a week here would recharge anyone looking for a country escape. Kitchen had everything we could need to cook up a storm, big fridge for all the supplies we bought up. This is heaven on earth. Everything so comfortable, huge new TV, great couch. Huge bath too.

Questions & answers about the pool

Hi, You are right that the Mountain View Lodge pools are solar heated and will not be warm enough in winter. They do have amazing views and big two person marble bath which also has great views. The pool at Cedar Lodge will be about 28 degrees (please note that it is not an outdoor Jacuzzi). The Glass Terraces are always very popular. We are fairly heavily booked so it will depend on what is available on the dates you would like to visit. \ Please do not hesitate to contact our reception if you have any queries.
