You definitely want to upgrade to platinum privileges, worth the money! Our family trip for spring break was fabulous even with the uncertainty of COVID. We were really hoping to get stuck there a few more weeks! The service was fabulous and they had wonderful activities for all ages. Rooms and resort were very clean and well kept. I loved the MERCADO DE DOLORES for lunch each day with so many fresh options to please the whole family. We didn't have any problems with reservations like some have claimed, but the resort was only half full due to COVID. It was nice to leave from our marina to go snorkeling on the reef. We also went to Xcaret and Xplor, and I highly recommend XPLOR. The only disappointments was the ocean and the time share sales. Compared to other resorts in Cancun the water was murky and we could not snorkel at all the entire stay. We also did the time share to get money off tours, but it was way longer than they said and we would have rather just paid the full price than be in a sales environment during vacation! We picked this resort because of the proximity to the reef and thinking we could snorkel all day. However, the pools and lux of everything else made up for the ocean! We will book again one day, but plan to try some other resorts!
We loved our experience at the Ventus with our sons and their families. Lots of different activities and places to relax. The Premium Club had nice offerings and a welcoming staff. The infinity pool was great and the rooms were very clean and safe. The staff was truly caring. Paulina, our butler, was very attentive and kind! Wendy, from the tour company, was extremely informative and very accommodating. The only frustrating part of our week at the Ventus was the lack of reservations available at the specialty restaurants. The Dolores Mercado offered a nice variety, though - The Crepe station was amazing! The nearby small fishing town of Puerto Morelos had great authentic little shops, a large modern grocery store, and was only a short taxi ride away. We hope to be back soon!
You could always find a shady place to sit by the pools. The palapas on the beach were available by reservation the day before. balcony over the pool area showed the staff power washing the stone deck every morning. the alcohol didn't seem to be the best but this was not our reason for staying here. Waiters were around frequently to service the people around the pool. the butler assigned to us was very attentive and available to help with anything including sightseeing, transportation etc. the spa on site was very relaxing. Our massages were outside near the beach. the whirlpool prior to the massage was excellent.
My family thoroughly enjoyed our time at El Cid Ventus in Puerto Morelos. Our concierge contacted me about a week prior to our arrival to make sure we got the resort information. He also made sure our resort driver met us at the airport. It was only a short 30min to the resort. We were greeted by our concierge (Mel) who helped us get checked in and gave us a brief overview of the facilities and the amenities. There was no pressure to do the timeshare presentation which we elected not to do.
The resort was very clean and our room (Junior Suite) was very comfortable for my family of four. My kids enjoyed the murphy bed. The pools were great. We had access to both resort (Ventus and Marina). The Ventus side was very quiet and a great place to relax and read. The Marina side was where the activities were at and they were very fun. One of the days, the pool became a huge foam party.
The restaurants and eateries were great. We were able to book a reservation at every restaurant for the entire week via the El Cid app. It was super easy. The food was delicious!!! The service was also second to none. The staff always made an extra effort to make sure everyone was happy. The coffee shop was also great. I enjoyed a delicious cup of coffee every morning while enjoying the waves.
Portions of the beach were not swimmable due to the rocks. I believe in enjoying nature as it comes. It is still unbelievably beautiful and peaceful. My family also enjoyed the use of the Kayaks and boogie boards.
The town of Puerto Morelos is only a short 25 minute walk. The resort also offers a twice a day bike guided ride into town. The town was a real joy to visit. It had many local vendors selling souvenirs and many local restaurants. The town square is a great place to sit and enjoy the scenery.
The entertainment at the resort was great. The resort offered 1 or 2 ~45min shows everyday. We went to all of them and we thoroughly enjoyed them. The resort also help facilitate our excursions. We did 4 different adventures which were reasonably priced and pickup/drop off was at the hotel entrance.
This vacation at this resort was definitely one of the best experience we have ever had. We definitely plan to come again.
Resort was beautiful, classy and very clean. All the employee's were polite and very attentive. Always checking in. Rooms were nice and nicely decorated.
