Staff were friendly. The double room was quiet, clean and everything worked. The restaurant breakfast was pricey but good food and service and such a great view. Its well located within walking distance to the main CBD.

I could see areas for improvement, but would stay here again.

We stayed here at the end of a NZ/OZ trip as our agent had trouble finding a hotel for the 4 nights we needed to fit in with our arrival on the Ghan train and our flight out to Singapore. When we got there we found it was the main horse-racing season with the Darwin show the next week. Check out events before availability as lots of Aussies come into town from the outback at this time!. Also the hotel is well out of the town. Having walked there and back once in 30degrees + we took taxis for the rest of the time. A hire car would have made life easier. There are no eateries nearby so one is obliged to eat in the hotel if you don't want to face another excursion. The food is fine and the view from the top floor restaurant excellent. However, it would be unsuitable for anyone with imparied mobility as the lift only goes to the floor below the restaurant. The hotel pool is good but use it before the sun starts to go down as it is soon in the shade.
The bar served coffee free if you helped yourself from the machine in the "Pokies" room. If we returned there, we would stay more centrally.

The rooms were cleaned daily, including fresh linen, the staff were very friendly and went out of their way to attend to any queries I made. I especially commend Tina on reception during business hours who went out of her way to help me with my lost baggage and would inquire how we were daily. We stayed there for two weeks and found the pool, the roof top restaurant, the bar and the bottle shop staff very good and helpful. All the meals we had there were very good. The walk into town only took around 20 minutes even though I need a knee replacement, the walk wasn't too bad. There are buses but it is just as easy to walk. The only thing I would change is the state of the barbecue which looked like it had never been cleaned. All in all a very enjoyable stay.

This hotel by international standards was probably borderline 2 star, however the bed linen was clean if not the rest of the room very tired & in dire need of upgrading. I had no wish to walk on the sticky carpet in my bare feet so thongs are essential here.Staff @ reception were bored & casual in attitude but not actually unhelpful. However the restaurant (on the sixth & top floor) was good with extremely helpful, happy staff, & the food with its basic short menu offers well-cooked & tasty food, value for money. There was no remote control for the air conditioner in the rooms (had to ask 3 x for one) & I was dubious about using the shower with its cracked tiles & very dirty grouting a good clean would've made such a difference! By Darwin's standards this was not a cheap hotel but value for money, no way. The worst part was we were booked on the GHAN & take note they DO NOT COLLECT from this hotel, kindly booked for us by Flight Centre, shame on you!

Stayed here for 11 nights, in early 2013, during a very dry spell of weather. The hotel is around a 15 minute walk from the main town centre and has a rooftop restaurant and a basement bar area, where pool can be played. The hotel, seemed to be the base for a number of manual workers and/or miners. Our room, whilst being basic, was comfortable and had a decent TV and fridge. The swimming pool to the rear of the hotel, appeared little used and infrequently maintained but despite being very warm and laden with leaves - we still utilised it. The few sun loungers around the pool, were also poorly maintained and required a 3 minute check over before being used.

We ate at the rooftop restaurant on a number of occasions and found the food to be plentiful and delicious. The two young ladies who waited on us, were both very welcoming, efficient and courteous. It's also worth pointing out, that beer and wine could be purchased at the adjoining bottle shop. All in all, despite initially wishing we had booked a hotel closer to the town centre - I still enjoyed our time at the Quality Hotel Frontier and definitely WOULD stay here again.

Room Tip: The hotel is set back from the main road and is therefore fairly quiet, especially at the front....
