"First of all we had to find a place in the Lech- Arlberg area of Austria that had at least four bedrooms and four bathrooms in order to accommodate the ladies in our group, and I was designated as the one to find such a place. Needless to say, these amenities are not bountiful in this area (or Europe in general), but i managed to stumble upon the Circle Chalets Arlberg in the town of Zug, Austria- and boy am I glad i did!!
After discovering how beautiful this place was, the vast amenities and the 24 hour butler service, it was a slam dunk in our group to reserve our week in this place. So I spent the next 5-6 months working with this lady named Romana, ironing out all the details and answering all my stupid questions. At every turn this lady was nothing short of an absolute pleasure to work with.
Once we finally arrived on site it became immediately apparent that we had hit the jackpot! The warming was heartfelt, the place was amazing and the service was nothing short of outstanding. As it turns out, we were the first Americans to stay at this place - which we found to be surprising.
Within a short time after our arrival Romana had us all (7 of us total) in her van heading to the ski rental shop. In no time we were back at the Chalets with our ski equipment and weekly ski passes that covered the entire region. Our afternoon snack was waiting for us and we settled by the nice wood fire that was prepared for us every day. The place was so comfortable and accommodating that it is almost hard to describe. Having a house to yourselves that is also connected to a full service restaurant where they prepare your meals and then serve your meals to you at the massive dining room table in your own dining room is an experience none of us had ever witnessed.
So the next day we headed to the slopes - which happened to be immediately outside our door- and Romana was leading the charge as she took this day to ski with us and show us around the slopes, which was awesome.
The skiing in the area is unbelievable and the culture is as well. Everyone is so friendly and inviting, but none more-so than the entire staff back at the Circle Chalet. From Romana to Keks the chef, to Tim and Daniel the butlers, everyone there went out of their way to make us comfortable and in the process become our friends, and they were very successful in this endeavor.
We spent a week at this most enjoyable vacation spot and the hardest part for all of us was leaving. We had such an unbelievable time, made so many friends and created so many fantastic memories that we all struggled when it came time to say goodbye to our new friends at the Circle Chalet. However, we now have new friends for life and I somehow feel that our paths will cross again, and I most certainly hope that they do!!
So if anyone is considering a home away from home type of trip to this storied location, you must give Romana a call for you'll also have a new friend for life and a trip you'll never forget!"
