We checked online the working time, and as it was until 11pm we decided to go and we reached there 10.40 pm.
The hostel was already closed so we tried to knock the door and call the phone number but nobody answered.
After 2 minutes someone opened the door and came out, pretending he wasn’t working there. He claimed he didn’t know anybody but also he didn’t let us go in.
After clearly lying about it, he kept repeating that he finished working and he had to go, even though we said we didn’t have a room and we wanted to book it for that night. All of this during the opening time. So he locked the door, grabbed his car a quickly went away.
Defenitely not the way to treat 2 potential costumers!
It's not the fanciest place, and the downstairs room has a tendency to get very stuffy, but they've put industrial fans downstairs for people to use at their lesiure so it kept the oxygen going. The staff are all lovely. The wifi could be better but I liked the space.
My friend and myself arrived very late during the night (after 12am) and after emailing the hostel, the staff very kindly organised late check in. The hostel was in a good location, close walking distance to the bus station (12minutes) and the centre of town. Unfortunately our six bed bunk room was very cramped, not a lot of space to move around and the ceilings very low so if you were on the top bunk felt a bit claustrophobic. The shower head was also positioned so low in the shower it made it difficult to wash your hair. Luckily there was air conditioning to keep the room cool. There is no plugs or lights for the top bunks so it was difficult to charge electronics if you also wanted to use them. Overall I don’t think I would stay here again as the lack of space was off putting.
The hostel is in a good location: 5/10 minute walk to the start of the old town, 2 minute walk from an Aldi and Spar. 15 minute walk from the bus / train station.
We flew into Ljubljana airport and opted for a €10 pp transfer to the hostel
The hostel itself is small and the staff are friendly. We had a private room, the room was adequate but very small, no real space to put luggage or hang clothes. I personally found the bed to be quite uncomfortable, but still slept ok.
We found that the hostel was fairly pricey in comparison to other hostels and hotels that we’ve stayed in; however I can imagine this is because of the location.
We went for a day trip to Lake Bled, we used the local bus that goes every hour from the bus station and cost €13 return.
You cannot expect better for the price.
The location is 15 m walk from the train station and 15mn walk from the old town so everything you need will be within walking distance.
The facilities were clean but the room is in a basement without natural lighting. Depending on who else stay there, the bathrooms floor are sometimes wet and dirty but they clean every day. The staff is friendly and flexible. The receptionist waited for me 30 mn after his shift to check me in almost at midnight.
