Michelle and her Wonderful Riad gave me a wonderful Valentine’s Day. His passion and his love are the greatest soundtrack of this unforgettable stay.
This riad is amazing and Michèle, the owner, is the nicest woman in the world! We arrived exhausted from our flight from NYC, and she immediately made us feel welcome and taken care of. One of our bags was lost by Air France for 3 days and I am convinced that without her intervention we never would have gotten it back. She actually got a friend of hers who works at the airport to search for it and find it (it was lost in the baggage room!) when Air France wasn't even responding to our inquiries. The property itself is easy to find and absolutely lovely -- a beautifully restored traditional Moroccan riad with a gorgeous salon, spacious rooms, and really nice rooftop terrace. The included breakfast was the best we had during our entire stay in Morocco (we traveled around and stayed at multiple riads) -- homemade yogurt, Moroccan pancakes, crepes, fruit, fresh-squeezed orange juice, eggs any style you could desire. There are also all the little touches like a tray of biscotti and a bowl of fruit left out in the common areas in case you get hungry. Michèle is a born hostess and everything is up to her very high standards. When we left we felt we had made a friend!
I loved the atmosphere in this traditional Moroccan home, which is filled with tasteful, ornate furniture and the most divine incense! The roof terraces (where a generous breakfast is served) are also gorgeous with excellent views of the Atlas Mountains.
As a solo traveller, it was wonderful to meet my chic french host, Madame Michelle. She had thought of everything: from a well stocked fridge to a complimentary mobile phone from which to call her should I need her during the day. Nothing was too much trouble. My room was also elegantly furnished and very clean.
Having stayed towards the north of the city, I also preferred this neighbourhood. The motorcycles were fewer / less aggressive and I felt generally safer. It’s also a short walk to the Palaces and other key sites. Majorelle (Le Musée YSL etc) is a €5 cab ride.
The Riad is owned by Michele and she was very welcoming, helpful and friendly. She greeted us with a cup of mint tea which was lovely.
Our room was beautifully decorated and breakfast was plentiful and very well presented.
We were a 10 minute walk to the markets so a great location.
Michele and her staff attended to our needs with a smile and I can't thank them enough for our lovely stay.
We loved this cozy riad, a short walk from the hustle and bustle. The room was very clean, comfortable and colorfully decorated. We had a special dinner in the courtyard one evening -- magical & romantic!! The food was delicious!!
