Although my colleague and I had valid cards and no restrictions from our banks none of 3 credit cards were working. We tried to pay 4 times in 28 hours and contacted our banks and CC institutions in Germany at our own costs only to get confirmed that the problem was on BH Elvis’ side. The receptionists promised to get it fixed but obviously failed, the checkout started with a very unfriendly instruction to pay now an additional full rate for one room we
kept. Although it was even in writing agreed on arrival to only pay half a rate until 9 pm. (It was before 8 pm and we just used the room for the luggage) but then the ordeal became even worse. The manager on duty Michael and his female colleague were extremely unfriendly, treated the Editor in Chief of Germany’s International broadcaster and me like thieves in an unwilling, aggressive and hostile way I was never treated before in a hotel in over 30 African countries and more than 26 years of travelling. MoD Michael not only refused any constructive solution with his solvent and cooperative guests, he also denied to give his full name, to connect us to his supervisor, ignored or repeated begging that we would miss our late flight to Germany. The only constructive suggestion even came from us - just to swap the machines as our cards had been accepted in the pool area before. I will advise everyone not to enter the Elvis hotel as there are enough hotels nearby that have a better reputation.

I and my husband arrived this hotel at 8am due to our flight arriving early from London, we were asked to pay half price for early check in , which was fine. We stayed in the deluxe King room. The hotel is safe, secure clean, neat and well presented. Breakfast was good, we had various choices. The outdoor pool area is neat, not too noisy ., it has green area close to the pool . The staff were friendly ,professional , the only thing was that the front dest staff were not to eager to give us local infomation . There seems to be one iron and ironing board in the building and staff takes forever to give you an iron , so we had to be quick in the morning to request for one. Overall it was a pleasant experience, we will definitely stay in this hotel again.

The swimming pool and music was nice, private and clean.
Check in security was a welcome idea also.
Staff were friendly and supportive. Joyfully attend to customer's needs (general observation).
The mini SAFE in the room should have printed stepwise instruction close by.

This is the third time I’ve stayed at a hotel in Abuja and although this one was more than two times the cost of the last two hotels, it is definitely not worth the extra money.

The outdoor area is beautiful and the lobby is impressive and elegant however the devil is in the details. Had to change rooms when I arrived as mine looked out onto a garbage area and the window (small as it is) had been left open. They quickly moved me to another room however the safe, bedside light, television and hot water all didn’t work. I stopped at the desk twice a day, when leaving and arriving, to report the issues and only the hot water was repaired over a four night stay. The reception desk always welcomed my request for repairs in a polite manner but I had to insist after two days that they write it down.

The restaurant is ok but overpriced. The first and only night that we had supper in the hotel restaurant, we had to get up and go place our order with the waiter as he chatted with other staff members by the front door. Neither the restaurant nor h the e pool bar ever has change so if you don’t insist, you end up leaving a tip that they frankly, don’t usually deserve. The exception to this was an older man working the pool bar.

I would definitely not recommend this hotel. You can find a better hotel in Abuja for half the price, with a little less bling bling on the outside but better service and standards on the inside. As my colleague pointed out, the Bon Hotel Elvis is a 3 dressed as a 9

Have visited the hotel twice. The breakfast is good. The rooms clean and comfortable. Staff are attentive. The a la carte and room service should be given a miss. V expensive and not good. Better to try restaurants outside the hotel. The hotel has a small gym with a personal trainer. However, during the second stay the gym was very busy and crowded. The pool looks inviting but is always c busy. Good place to stay in Abuja.
