My two night booking was not there( I booked three days in advance & it was confirmed): When they finally find it I was I can only stay one night because on the following day they're fully booked. The manager promised to "try" & find me somewhere for the same rate (was disappointing after a long trip). We were then taken to our room by a guy without any uniform & clothes full of paid who kept talking to his phone the whole time through our room. We booked two rooms: the first one was stinking of rain with broken mirrors. The second one we were welcomed by a cockroach.
Wireless was the only thing that was amazing about the hotel.
The manager did well on finding accommodation for me.
Breakfast was okey
Parking is on the other side of the hotel: muddy walk & pee stink on the way are the biggest turn off.

The hotel needs a serious attention:

Dear valued client, Management and staff at The Lusaka Hotel would like to appreciate your effort to make our hotel the best destination in the CBD. Your comments are very useful and deserve consideration. I’m encouraged that our internet was amazing and that breakfast was okay. However, we are seriously disturbed over the inconveniences that you experienced regards your booking after traveling a long trip. We therefore wish to unreservedly apologize to you for the unacceptable manner in which your booking was handled. A note has been taken on your observation regarding staff behavior, the status of the rooms you stayed in as well as the car park access passage. We have started acting upon these concerns and assure you of our best services. The hotel is currently undergoing rehabilitation (in phases) and soon will be launching a refurbished product that shall continue meeting our guest’s expectation. Let me take this opportunity on behalf of The Lusaka Hotel to thank you for your great comments as it is through such honesty comments and criticism that we are helped to serve our customers better. Robert Mwale – Executive Assistant Manager.

Room was clean but basic, had to sort the flush on the toilet as the water kept running. The breakfast was good and the staff were very helpful.Beware of location it is very central but traffic on Cairo road is a total nightmare at the rush hours. The taxi driver who seems to operate from the hotel is extremely helpful and reasonably priced. He was agreat help getting us sorted out at the disorganised chaos that is inter-city bus station on Dedan Kimathi street.

Dear guest, It is with great excitement that you took time to review your stay with The Lusaka Hotel. Management would like appreciate that you found our rooms clean, breakfast enjoyable and that our staff were very helpful. Additionally, we are happy that you found our central location convenient due to our proximity to the bus station and of course easy access to other business facilities such as shopping malls, banks etc. However, it is a regrettable that you had to sort the flush on the toilet due to the problem with the system. We are therefore pleased to confirm that the problem has since been rectified and in perfect order. It is unfortunate that traffic was a challenge. Besides we are encouraged that the taxi driver you got and operate from the hotel premises was extremely helpful and offered a reasonable price. It is always our earnest desire to provide the best hospitality services to our guests. We look forward to host you again. Thank you. Management.

Booked for 2 nights in January and was confirmed by email, travelled over 10 hours from Malawi by road only to be told that they could not check me into my room as the person who has access to hotels internet bookings was not around. After half an hour , I was allocated a room. The room was basic and very dated just like rest of the hotel. The food in the restaurant was very poor, the restaurant itself was a throwback from the 1980's. I paid for room and full breakfast. The full breakfast included a hot drink , cereal , bread and two boiled eggs, every thing else was extra. You can choose an omelette instead of the boiled eggs but this is not mentioned to you and are given every excuse in the book so as not to order.
They is no swimming pool, they is a water feature next to the restaurant which unfortunately acts as a mosquito breeding ground.
The TV in my room was not working, at no point was it fixed or replaced during my stay despite mentioning this to the people at reception. They was not Tv at all viewable in the whole hotel as the TV cable service had been disconnected, this I found out from a member of staff who was honest enough unlike the people at reception.
I definitely wouldn't stay here again. Even if it was for the price factor, it's not worth it.

Dear Guest, The Lusaka Hotel management appreciates your time taken to review our property. It is however with great concern to know that your stay was marred with a number of challenges especially after taking a long journey by road. Management does not take pleasure in what transpired. We regret that this predicament started with the delayed check in process which had to do with the delayed booking confirmation by the booking agent. We would like to further acknowledge your concern on the breakfast package, the contractual issues on this package has since been rectified between the Hotel and your booking agent for your pleasant service in your next visit to Lusaka. Additionally we have taken note of your positive observation on our plunge pool. On the nonfunctional TV, we would like to convey our sincere apologies to you and other customers for the inconvenience caused as a result of a delay to resolve this issue with the service provider before end of business on that particular day. The faulty Tv experience is very unfortunate and unacceptable and corrective measures on receiving faults have been taken to avoid a repeat of such incidences to all our customers. We would like to encourage you to please feel free to see the Duty Manager in you next visit to The Lusaka Hotel. It is through such honest criticism and comments that we are helped to serve our customers better. We look forward to using your next visit as an opportunity for compensating your awful stay with a memorable and pleasant one. Once again thank you for reviewing our services. Regards The Lusaka Hotel

Reliable basic and clean hotel in Lusaka at reasonable rate. The staff are friendly and helpful and breakfast is included. Noise from the street could be a problem as it is on a busy street and conversations from passers by seemed to carry into the room. Ask for a quiet room if possible.
