View Top Lode is one of the best Lodge in Sarangkot. Very complicated and clean room, I really enjoyed the Mountain view, Fewa Lake, Pokhara Valley view from the room. They have very nice garden, the food also very delicious, specially I like Nepali set meal, Dal Bhat, also owner of this Lodge very kind & friendly. I highly recommend this place for comfortable stay & enjoy the Panoramic Mountain view & Sunrise.
I stayed here for one night so I could see the sunrise but should have gone elsewhere. The man who showed us the room gave us the password for the wifi but failed to mention that there is NO WIFI IN THE ROOMS, only the lobby. No toilet paper in the bathroom either. The rooms have a bed and that's it. There's no cover sheet, just a weird foam filled blanket. No fan or AC either, but that's not a big deal. My friend and I walked around in the evening, had dinner at one of the restaurants and when we came back, were berated for not having eaten at the hotel restaurant. I told the man we booked a room, not dinner and he replied that it was "understood" that we would stay for dinner. Also, when I asked for a reduction in price because of theabsence of toilet paper and wifi he refused. It's a seedy place with shady people and altho it's the first hotel you see when you get to Sarangkot, pass it by. There are many others, like the one next to it where you get wifi AND breakfast for the same price I paid. Mega rip off.
We booked the room in advance for $20, wanting to be on the safe side before heading to Sarangkot, and not really knowing about the guesthouses landscape there. The room had a great view, however the windows did not close properly and insects were flying in, there was no hot water, a nearly empty roll of toilet paper (I wouldn't mind so much if the room wasn't presented as a proper touristic option), and while breakfast was included, we apparently still had to make a crucial choice between butter OR jam for our toasts ;) All in all, a decent hotel with a great view, but as there are tons of guesthouses in Sarangkot, there is really no need booking in advance a comparatively overpriced room.
Compared to the prices of hotels in the town of Pokhara, this double room was not that cheap. It was very basic, beds not too comfortable, could do with some improvements (clean the mirror, fix the broken toilet seat, remove the dead butterflies, etc), wifi signal virtually nonexistant in the room (but good in the lobby and outside), breakfast uniform (egg, potatoes, toast, sweet poridge) every morning. The biggest problem was the nonfunctional socket - we could charge no device in the room, only in the lobby. However, our stay was pleasant enough, and we would come here again. The shower was hot enough, the view was excellent, the white dog was a darling, and the family was extremely kind and pleasant- we were even invited to their ceremony of weaning. The hotel is very close to the viewpoint and the path to Phewa Lake is immediately to the side. Possible to buy a meal at standardly not so low prices, as well as coffee, tea... There are other restaurants, tiny food shops and simple cafes around. Taxi stop is right in front of the hotel. And a message to the kind owner- we are really sorry for forgetting to pay for our tea pot. It was not deliberate.
Rooms are very basic with thin mattress. Do not expect hotel-like amenities. Wifi is free but signal strength varies.
The room we had accorded us a very beautiful view of the mountain and lake. The lodge itself is clean and pleasant. Well staffed by a family who provided warm services and serve up good delicious meals.
We took a walk up the View Top to catch the sunset and rise which is a beautiful sight of the mountains. Awesome.
We also took little strolls around the area - can be dusty at some roads and very peaceful and tranquil.
