We just stayed here for one week. The breakfast included is very good. A good variety and the staff are really nice and helpful. THis is located about 3 blocks from the east gate and very near the main temples (Wat) in the old city. It is down a quiet side street # 5 off Ratchadamoen . The room we had was small but adequate and a good price. I would stay there again. I love the closeness to everything. You must see the sunday night market . so big !!!
I loved this place. Arrived at 10 am after flying from UK and tired. Room not ready as expected to went to their Restaurant and had a coffee. By 11am I’m told my room is ready and bag there. What service. Nice room. Has AC and ceiling fan. Balcony outside. Small but adequate bathroom. Perfectly cleaned each day. All for approximately US$30 a day. Oh and fabulous breakfast included from 6.45am onwards.
Great little restaurant with a pretty good menu.
I am totally satisfied.
I stayed one night here and had the best room with balcony for one person. The location was also perfect. I would not stay here for a longer period. The breakfast is not good and there are no nice areas to meet people, in the hotel. The staff is friendly, English speaking and service minded.
The Rendezvous Guesthouse is in the absolute center of Chiang Mai's old city, perfect for walking to shops, restaurants, and the beautiful Buddhist temples in every direction. It is also on a quiet lane just steps away from the famous Sunday night walking market, which is a must for visitors, crammed with clothing and craft vendors, food stalls, beautiful, locally-made silver jewelry, and local performing musicians and dancers.
My room was comfortable and clean with a modern bathroom, a flat, large screen Sony television with several English channels and a Mini fridge for cold drinks and leftovers. The staff was wonderful, providing help any time I needed it. Including translation help when the airline lost my luggage.
This is not the cheapest place I have stayed in Chiang Mai, but it was lovely, felt very safe, and the price included a huge breakfast with a choice of a Thai or western style menu. I will stay here again and again.
Food poisoning which landed us in the hospital, computer charger exploded, and thin walls!
We are not picky travelers and I rarely give 1 stars to any place but the combination of experiences at Rendezvous GuestHouse was horrible.
First the electrical wiring at the guest house nearly electrocuted my wife and fried our Apple computer charger. The management at the Guesthouse took no responsibility ($75 cost) and said it was the chargers issue which we've been using in Thailand for nearly 30 days. We had no issues with the charge until this happened.
The walls in the room are extremely thin so you hear everything your neighbors are saying. Ive experienced many thin walls in cheap places but these are the worst.
Finally, food poisoning on the last morning of our stay. My wife ordered the fried rice with egg for breakfast. Within an hour she had felt nauseous and started to throw up/diarrhea a few hours after eating. This was the only food she ate all day. We had to go to the hospital it got so bad.
There are tons of great guesthouses and hotels in Chiang Mai, do your self a favor and don't go to this one.
