Living place 3 is a budget hostel that I booked using the Hotels.com app at an outrageously low price. With this being my second time around in CM I wanted to try a new location where I met Molly and her adorable dogs. Although the place isn’t exactly the Sheraton, for such a low price in a location near Tha Pae Gate, China town and Zoe Bar, I’d say I got a steal.

The beds were what you would expect for SEA but if you snag a bottom bunk, then take a tip from me and bring your own blanket to create the illusion of privacy. The bathrooms were decent and most importantly the water was hot.

I had a fun group in my room so we often spent time together hanging in the hostel then going out to explore. There is beer available at the hostel too. Molly was super sweet and accommodating. She gets up so early but makes sure to try to help as much as possible.

She helped me to organize my trip up north to Pai and gave me great advice on where to find cheap massages and food. I was simply grateful for the homely feel after months of travel and having space to crash.

Thank you xoxo.

We came there for the loy krathong festival with 3 friends I met during my trip in SE Asia. We choose this place because it was cheap. Once there the owner Molly welcomes us very well. She’s a very nice women gave us a lot of good advices about what to do in Chiang Mai. The hostel was very clean, good bed, nice lobby room and very social. I recommend this place to anyone that want to have a good moment in chiang mai. I’m now in Pai for few days and will for sure come back to Molly’s place after these dew days in Pai!

We stayed here for 2 nights, it was ridiculously cheap and in a decent location.

Molly the owner was extremely helpful and warming, she offered us help with renting our mopeds and sorted our day with the elephants which I would recommend to all! (Dumbo elephant spa).

The 3 chihuahuas are great entertainment and are very cute to have about the place if you get to see them!

Rooms were clean and bathrooms were standard. On site fridge which sells drinks for cheap such as local beers, water and fizzy drinks like coke fanta etc.

Lobby downstairs is a place to chill/have a few beers with some of your room mates before heading out.

Check out the cafe hideout which is approx a 10 min walk from here too for the best sandwiches! Amazing quality and price! Highly recommend!

I would stay here again, Molly is so lovely and helpful!

I stayed here for 4 nights in September with my girlfriend. The hostel is in a great location, 5 minute walk from the old town with plenty of shops/food/bars near by. We stayed in a private room which was very adequate for our stay and good air conditioning which is always appreciated in Thailand. The wifi is included and works well.
The hostess is super friendly and cool to chat to, and was very helpful to us, especially when my Girlfriend injured herself on her moped. She has her 3 small dogs living there too which adds to the personality of the place. She has a cheap laundry service that came in handy as well.

Currently in the low season so it was quiet as expected, but I could imagine this would be a cool place to meet loads of people in the high season.

I would recommend this to all travellers looking for a cheap friendly place to stay in Chiang Mai.
