We really enjoyed our stay at Chedi Home. Our room with en-suite bathroom(through very small) was clean and nicely decorated. The staff were always friendly and really attentive. They helped us book a cooking class which was an awesome experience! We absolutely loved the breakfast. Enough options, each one done very well and plenty of food. Highly recommend!
We loved the gorgeous quirky external architecture of Chedi home where modern day meets traditional Lanna styles. Be aware though that if you are a light sleeper, the walls are quite thin so you here a lot of street noise of the motorbikes and the local backpackers from the hostels late at night. This was easy fixed with some earplugs for the adults but the kids were not phased.
The hotel breakfast as so many mention, is delicious and we enjoyed sampling so many traditional Thai foods! Especially the unusual fruits. It is a bit of a shame that the restaurant isn’t open in the evenings as after sampling their breakfasts I’m sure their meals would be great. They offer lunch service but after a long day it could be good. There are many restaurants around to purchase from that offer take away which we were able to bring back to our room after long days of tours and not wanting to eat out.
The view from the family room with floor to ceiling of the Chedi is just beautiful. We would have loved to learn more about it the Chedi itself, and there are daily announcements in Thai on a speaker which plays through the streets, which you can listen to from your balcony (family room).
We didn’t have any issues with mosquitoes, but there was personal repellent sachets in our room for us.
If you want to be immersed in Chiang Mai soi life Chedi home is a lovely place to do so, it’s in close proximity to the old city and walking distance to everything you need with a homely feel.
This is a gorgeous little hotel extremely central and amazing staff who are so helpful and happy to help with anything. We booked our Elephant Sanctuary half day tour through the hotel and got 10% discount. We got collected from the hotel and dropped back again after so stress free. Very clean rooms with good air conditioning and shower. Can be a little noisy at night but worth it for the excellent breakfast available every morning. They have a luggage room available if you need to leave any baggage behind for a few hours after checking out. We stayed for 2 nights and would definitely go back if we were in Chiang Mai again.
5 stars for this find. Clean with plenty of room, super comfy bed, hot shower. Well located. Breakfast was excellent, many choices for all including vegan options. Staff helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.
Small well located hotel, being a 5 minute walk to the Old City and a 10 minute walk to Thrapae Gate, which is where the Sunday night market kicks off. Our family of 5 (2 adults, 3 children) were easily accommodated in one of their larger family rooms with an extra bed - the room benefited from 2 bathrooms, 2 fridges, bottled water provided daily, a view over the Chedi at the front and a small balcony, which was pleasant to sit out in the evenings. Beds were on the firm side, a bit too firm for me but that is obviously personal preference. All areas meticulously clean. Small dipping pool to freshen up in. Staff were absolutely lovely - we stayed for 5 nights, then went to Chiang Rai for 3 nights, then came back for 1 night - it was like coming home! Breakfast was freshly cooked from a menu, all dishes coming with a plate of fruit and a "desert" - enough for even those with a huge appetite. After the first breakfast we asked them to now give us certain items for fear of wasting food. Be aware no lift.
The only downside of our stay was ambient noise. The family rooms all side on to a street which can be noisy with bikes and rickshaws speeding up and down at all hours. This is compounded by a poorly sound insulated door to the balcony and bathroom windows that don't shut. The noise was intrusive at times, particularly on our second stay, when we were located in the first floor family room (previously having stayed in the 2nd floor family room further away from the road). The door/window situation would benefit from addressing. by the hotel.
