I stayed here for four nights and due to the pandemic, I spent most of my time during the day in the hotel too, doing as much work as possible online, venturing out very cautiously only when absolutely necessary for my work. Despite limited staff and caution with resources due to the pandemic, the service at Meliá was still outstanding. Every hotel worker was well trained on handling hygiene, personal distancing, and security measures. Despite the many adjustments, there was never a smile missing from their faces; even for those required to wear masks, you could sense their smiles underneath. The breakfast (esp. Peter), room service, front desk (esp. Oscar and Nan), and pool staff all went above and beyond to show exceptional hospitality. It was the haven that I needed during a difficult travel period.

It is true that at Meliá Yangon, we set the health and safety of our guests and employees as our main priority. And while our doors are open, we are fully cooperating with the Myanmar Ministry of Health and Sports and following all guidelines provided by local and international health officials. Meliá Yangon is focusing on and applying stringent practices around food handling, as well as sanitization, disinfection and cleaning of guest rooms and public areas. Anti-bacterial hand sanitizers have been placed in all areas across the property and face masks are provided on request to our guests, in case they need them.
