We booked courtyard suit with jacuzzi and upgraded to couple villa due to overbooking.

Mr. Alvin at front desk was helpful and did a fast Chek-in.

Villa was ok and we enjoyed our stay there.
But, everything is the resort is in bad shape (pool, furnitures, restaurant menu, literally everything). Looks like it took a really hard hit by the pandemic.

Breakfast can be improved and restaurant aircon need some servicing (water leaking)

Nice greenery and lots of birds, you can wake up to bird songs in the morning.

If you are planing to come here, don’t expect spotless cleaning and shiny furnitures.
But if you are ok with, little bit Damaged doors, fading paints here and there, it’s good place to relax and have a good time.

We had a lovely long weekend at the Amara. The grounds and rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The pool is also lovely.
Unfortunately the service was incredibly slow and there was poor communication. I appreciate that during CV19 hotels are challenged but it would have been helpful to let us know that wait time for meals would be standard.

The other disappointment was that upon check out the hotel had wanted to charge me $10 for a wine glass that accidentally broke in our room. After expressing my surprise the staff said they’d only charge for $5. It felt rather petty to be charged for a cheap wine glass that broke by accident. I don’t mind paying for damages but the principle feels off and left a sour ending to an otherwise lovely weekend.

Sharing my recent experience to Sentosa , Amara Sanctuary Resort ; Larkhill Terrance couple suite.

Checking in is a breeze. Usual checking time at 3pm. Check out 12 noon. Though you can probably try your luck to checking in earlier, which is not a problem on a weekday.

Firstly, There are many different types of rooms available within the hotel. This review in particular is for the couple suite - Larkhill Terrance. Which is basically a row of old colonial 2 story Bungalows converted into hotel rooms. (I used to book these holiday chalets before Amara took over the property ;)

The rooms are not exactly huge but are self sufficient ; rooms are clean, the king size bed is comfortable for two. (Even for 6ft 2)

Complimentary Nespresso coffee; nice touch! Coffee and tea. Bar area with mini fridge.

Separate toilets and shower area (rain shower)
There's a outdoor tub as well. (See pictures)

And a day bed located in the courtyard with direct access to jacuzzi and pool ;) (tip; request for room 801, jacuzzi is just right outside the courtyard ;)

Hotel is very near to the beach (Palawan) down slope all the way, less than 50metres from the hotel. Internal bus no.3 which is FOC will bring you to many different places all over the island, including quay side isle; W Hotel.

It's also within walking distance from RWS (nearest food option) order in room dining if you are really desperate, else not recommended.

There's a spa and gym (foc) near by as well. According to the missus; it's pretty decent.

All in all; not too bad. A good option if you prefer something that's close to nature and quiet, away from the crowd.

Beautiful resort in sentosa that is well located near food/attraction vicinity. Stayed in room 326 this time. Stayed here for a staycation & honestly, my condominium's facilities are much better.

Sky pool on level 4 has decent views, but the water is mildly dirty (say greenish, dirty hues)

Check-in counter staff, Mr. Leo (student) was definitely a disappointment. Definitely needs to be reminded that he needs to put on a smile. Annoyed at guests? Your face shows it, your attitude shows it. We were put off by it.

Check-out counter staff, Ms. Ryu (student as well) was much better. Even my friend agrees! Warm greeting, warm attitude = contented guests

Bar attendant was actually doing her duty when we visited on 2/3. Friend signed off with their name on the bill, but she notices my name was on the room list instead. Thus, she did her diligence duty and called my room after 10 minutes just to check! That's what I call doing it right!

All in all, thanks for the service.

Dear melissabenedicte, Thank you for your review. It was disappointing to learn of the shortfall experienced in service at your point of check-in. Your experience is certainly not indicative of the standards one would expect of Amara Sanctuary Resort. We acknowledge that we can certainly do better. Please be assured that your feedback will be shared with the team for their further improvement. We appreciate your time to share this review of us and are grateful for your support. We look forward to having you back with us soon. Yours sincerely, Amara Sanctuary Team

You can always call the reception and ask for the buggy service. I have my mom with us and she cant walk much while we stayed in the 2 Br villa so that she doesn't have to climb any stairs also. There is a shuttle bus from the resort with few stops and you can check with the reception as well. Laundry service is available at request.
