Family of five stayed there on the last week of January. It’s a large hotel up to 23 levels which comprise of a swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, snooker table, gym and outdoor tennis and indoor squash court.
We stayed level 9 and the lobby was clean. There’s also a playground and nice garden to hang around too.
Swimming pool was cleaned daily as was the jacuzzi. Though the jacuzzi doesn’t appear to be working when we tried it a few nights. The squash courts requires you to ask for rackets which is the same as for the tennis courts. ask the management office on level 8.
The family enjoyed the snooker table every night as there was air conditioner to use. The highlight was the swimming pool as we used it daily and it was great for there was the big pool and baby pool for my toddler to splash about.
The location was awesome as it was a five minute walk towards the main Orchard Road shopping strip. So we had access to many food courts and malls as well as the MRTs and Buses.
Decor is outdated but perhaps that’s the hotel’s preference. For an two bedroom apartment with two bathrooms, kitchen, washing machine and dining and lounge room it was a bonus for us as we all had our space to chill out after a long day of exploring.
The beds were more comfortable than I expected as back home I sleep on a Temper mattress.
Overall, the price location and staff were awesome. We’ll definitely come back.
Went with my sister for 9 day break. Booked 2 bed apartment. Upgraded to a 3rd bed which made for great space. 1 room ensuite and nice large shower in the other bathroom. Large clean pool. The whole block is showing its age but the beds were large and comfy. Friendly warm staff. Laurance and colleagues very helpful with sign posting for bus or rail and booking taxi. Based more in the shopping district so you need to get bus into bay area. Transport is within walking distance. Taxi to airport less than 30 Singapore dollars and much easier to use than big bags. Supermarket in area is expensive. Take your own tea bags! Best meal we had local to apartments was Nan Na on 4th floor (not ground floor one) looks awful inside but great food. Also Hans Gluk for burgers and salads. Great vibe and taste was amazing. Wine is very expensive in Singapore. Try and visit Little India (Spice Junction) and China town food lane.
My family of 6 adults stayed at Far East Plaza Residences for a week. We stayed in a 3 bedroom deluxe apartment and were very comfortable. Although the apartment was a little dated it was clean and more than adequate for our needs. Great location to MRT and food courts. Devi our cleaning lady was friendly and helpful. One suggestion I would make would be to add another 2 seater sofa to the existing lounge area. Because there was only enough seating for 4 people so 2 of us had to sit on dining chairs. We made good use of the pool and gym facilities. Overall we would come back and stay at Far East apartments.
For well over 30 years, we (my Singaporean wife; me (Dutch), our 2 children, with their partners and children) have been staring in Far East Plaza for now 7 times. We like the apartments so much, because of the style, the service (cleaning, doormen, back office, etc), the swimming pool (big and well kept) and it’s terrific central location (orchard road, MRT, Newton Circus, etc.) We are looking forward to booking with this great organisation again soon.
