Had a two week stay which was very enjoyable. The staff are brilliant and eager to please. Cocktails and drinks in the lounge from 6-8pm and refreshments which were more like a buffet experience the quality of the food and drinks was high. Comfortable room and free minibar. Brilliant laundry service 2 items free allowed with the Club package which is definitely worth it. Decent swimming pool and Jacuzzi. but no sun umbrellas. Location good near Bencoolen MRT around corner and Bras Basah also bus stops outside of hotel. Would recommend the Rendezvous and go for the Club which in the long run will be cheaper than spending money in hotel café. Eateries all around in street. We went to the Straits Café for breakfast but nothing like the impeccability of the Club, but more choice such as Asian food and omelettes cooked there for you. The choice is yours.

The hotel is located in an excellent spot - close to MRTs, buses, eateries and the shopping belt. Once you get accustomed to the heat, it is easy and quick to walk to places such as Little India, Arab St, Bugis, The Raffles, Chijmes, Fort Canning Park, Emerald Hill Road, and Atlas Bar.
The hotel has lots of groovy art pieces which jazz the place up, and a lovely relaxing pool area.
We stayed in a club room which was well worth it. All the staff (Dayang, Dhivyan, Sofia, Kathleen, Jack, Daniel, Kiki and the concierge staff) were equally outstanding. The surprise birthday cake I was provided was very nice.
The club room was the perfect spot to chill out with an evening wine and chatting away with new friends!
Other complimentary benefits of the club room included a laundry service, mini bar, newspaper, smart phone, premium TWG tea, nibbles in the evening alongside drinks and a late checkout.
I believe the hotel could do with a renovation in the club room area and hotel corridors. It is something that should be given serious consideration, as it will reap the benefits.

I chose this hotel because of proximity to the office I was going to. Although the hotel doesn’t seem to be in a very touristy-area, it seems like the vast majority of guests were tourists. However, just about all the tourist attractions in Singapore are a short cab-ride away.
The rooms are on the small side. Mine had a queen-size bed, a guest chair, desk and desk chair, an ihome alarm clock, a small flat screen TV with a variety of international channels, and a small side table by the guest chair. There were night stands on each side of the bed, each with a lamp and a drawer. There’s also an iron, ironing board, luggage rack, room safe, and a flashlight in the closet. There was a phone at the desk, and another in the bathroom. There was only one electric outlet available for charging my devices – happily it was by the desk. A credenza has some drawers, a small coffee maker and the mini-bar (although apparently you have to call the desk if you want the mini-bar to be stocked). The closet was small, in part because space is used by three drawers and the room safe.
The bathroom includes a sink, a large stall shower (no tub) with one of those rain-forest shower heads (along with a handheld), usual soaps and shampoos, and a hair dryer, slippers and robes. I thought the towels were a little thin and scratchy, and I was surprised that there were no face/wash-cloths (only bath and hand towels). I also thought that the lighting in the bathroom was weak.
The room has a master-control panel on one of the night stands which allows you to control all the lights, the air conditioning, and even the electronic versions of the ‘do not disturb’ and ‘please make up’ signs at the door.
The complimentary wifi was fast and reliable. Check-in and check-out was fast.
Overall the hotel is clean and nice, and seem fairly modern. While there’s not much too really complain about (aside from the restaurant, more about that later), there’s not much to rave about either.
I don’t like that they don’t make the bed without a top-sheet, which essentially means that when I go to sleep my body is in direct contact with the duvet that’s been in contact with every prior guest’s body.
I did make use of the hotel’s laundry service one time. They pickled-up the clothes around 9:00AM and returned them by 5:00 without any problem.
There was some construction going by the hotel during my stay. And while no room seemed to be completely immune to the noise, my room was very close to it. When I asked for a quieter room, I was given one immediately.
I really didn’t like the one-and-only restaurant (Straits Café) at the hotel. This is a result of the general chaos and disorganization that I experienced every time we ate there, which was often enough since my booking included a complimentary breakfast. The breakfast included a variety of hot and cold choices of western and Asian cuisines (cereals, eggs, dumplings, soups, fresh fruit, yogurt, cheeses, meats, etc.). It’s important to know that the restaurant only serves buffet style. There is no table-service at all anywhere in the hotel. In short, the restaurant’s operation is very disorganized. There never seemed to be enough tables (in part because various sections of the restaurant were always closed off from use), and they frequently didn’t replenish items fast enough. At various times I saw them run out of coffee cups, juice glasses, and maple syrup for the pancakes. All these were eventually restocked if you waited. Most infuriating was that they didn’t have a coffee urn available for the guests. Instead, each cup was individually brewed by a machine, which you operate yourself. It took just over a minute to brew each cup, so it didn’t take long for the line of guests waiting to use this machine to build up. No one should ever have to stand in line for several minutes to get coffee at a restaurant.
I ate lunch once in the restaurant which was also a buffet that included a wonderful seafood bar of mussels, clams, scallops, and crab-legs; as well as many other offerings. But, it was still very disorganized. There didn’t seem to be any option for getting a beverage. Eventually, we flagged down a busboy and asked for some water.
I never tried the restaurant for dinner, but when I passed by it at dinner time, it was virtually empty of any customers.
I tried happy hour at the lobby bar once – but in this case happy hour only covers a small handful of drinks, at two for the price of one. Curiously, the bar never seemed to attract much business at all.
Overall, it’s not a bad hotel. And, if they could improve the restaurant and the bar, it would actually be quite nice.
