The hotel is very near to the beach which is a plus, but the rooms are with old furniture and without improvments. Instead it has a big yard, a decent pool and playground for children.
We had breakfast but it wasn t tasty and very basic.
They have also apartments but even if the rooms are very big the quality is under average for their price- arround 700 ron per night.
As I see there are not to positive reviews and is not fair.Rooms are indeed small but for sure are same size with rest of the rooms from old hotels of Mamaia city.
Staff is friendly, in fact rarely happens to interact with so many smiling people and positive attitude.
Food local, for sure Romanians will appreciate tasty but.....too much chicken and cheap cakes.And very load live band (that was bad for my brain every evening);
Pool looks ok,drinks were quite good (all inclusive) , beach overcrowd,acceptable program for kids but nothing fancy in fact they can do much more if they really intend to go in this family concept.
Owner of the complex have a good vision but they need much more thing to change.Start is good, so my review is positive. Have no sense to come here if you don't have kids.......too loud :)
Not a perfect hotel but worth what we paid for a week in high season , for sure I would go back just as I would like stricter rules to mitigate the lack of education of some of the tourists. Food quality too Romanian unfortunately for my taste, too much food and that even if many tourists complain that not enough , although they also walked with plate overflows throwing more than half . Stricter rules would be welcome in the restaurant to avoid the crowds and the wild ones ! Rooms are small but reasonably equipped , bathrooms are ugly , cleanliness is not the best quality , the view from some rooms with sea view is exceptional especially if you want to catch the morning sunrise. Many playgrounds and activities for children , kids club , private beach with beach bar and all service included beach chairs and umbrellas , pool , pool bar ! The staff is okay but could respond to complaints ! Mamaia is disappointing , too crowded , too dirty and if it rains you have to be prepared to swim the paths and sidewalks
We just returned from a 3 nights trip with our children,and I felt the need to share our moments there with other travellers. If you care,like our family does,of the comfort and amneties of a place you travel,Mercur Minerva is not a place to go!
The whole complex has not seen renovation since years;the rooms are incredible small,bathrooms are horrible,they frightened terribly my 2 daughters.We got family room so 2 rooms connected,still so small,smelly,falling curtains,one door of the wardrobe bocked,spiders in the bathroom;should I say more?
The good thing was the swimming pool and the restaurant,in limits!
The variety of the food quite poor,and we paid 500 euro for 3 nights,for this amount of money I have expected more!!!
I staied for 10 days in this hotel with my 4 years old daughter and i do not recomend to anybody. The crew is extremly unpolite, in the restaurant sometimes i had to eat with my hand because thare was not even a fork or knife, and when i 've seen how the silver wear is looking i both from outside because it was dirty and very old. the tables for guest in the restaurant were not set, only for the management was a reserved table with glases, silver weare and napkins, us the guests were treated as cattle. there is no swiming pool of the hotel just one that has few sunbeds and very lound music inapropriate for a kids club with very rude owners.
The playing ground for kids was very dangerous, as they cut off trees and let behind the chopped wood, plus the swing and other facilities were broken.
The rooms dirty and if you expect a good day from the crew you can forget about it.
Do not go there
