Easy to access the attractions of the city. The staff were really nice and efficient sorting out transport and best bargain places for shopping! The bedroom was large, clean with good a/c no view though.....breakfast was simple but generous . A good simple easy hotel for budget travellers.
Rooms, furniture are very old and shabby. It doesn't look like on web site pictures, just much worse. But it has good working air conditioner, warm water. Wi fi is working not bad as for Myanmar. Breakfast is very basic.
I was very disappointed by staff. During my check out, they hold me around 20 minutes for checking my room. Than one member of stuff brings the sheet painted by pen. They gave me a claim, it was my job! Unbelievable! Of course I denied everything and leave for flight. Be careful.
This is a good budget hotel in Mandalay. Room was big, carpet look a little bit old but it was clean. AC working good.
Good value for money, but for shorter stays only. Didn't have time to breakfast as I had to catch the boat to Bagan early in the morning.
Some mosquitoes in the room at night. Windows in the room couldn't be sealed, just shutters.
I was lucky to get a single room with a big discount so have nothing to complain about. Stuff is super nice and attentive. Can organize you everything you need. They even did my room while I was out. Usually in other hotels if you stay two nights nobody cleans it. The only thing is they forgot to put toilet paper. Noise levels are very low. Breakfasts are as everywhere in the country. For some reason my scrambled eggs had pieces of. . .onion (probably leftovers from previous dish). They also tried to charge me for wet tissues(! 200kyat but still). I think this kind of stuff might be free and it wasn't on the price list anyway. Just gave it back. They also say credit card is ok, but when I tried to pay with plastic the terminal suddently was not there. And they asked for cash. Had to give them my last money. Just an unpleasant feeling.
Overall the hotel is very nice for its price. But don't expect much. This is Myanmar.
This is the third time I stay in this hotel/guesthouse. I go to Mandalay for NGO work, and choose to stay here because of the friendly and always helpful receptionists + central location in town. It is very central, but still in a more quiet street, for a good price and wifi is pretty ok. The breakfast is like other places in Myanmar, but what makes this place a gem (to me) is the staff; they are so friendly and sweet. Yes, they (still) struggle a tiny bit with some english, but if you give the time to explain they will help you with everything the best possible way. The room is cleaned every day if you want to. There is tv, fridge and tea in the room. The first impression might be a little mixed because some rooms have dirt in the corner of the walls (like all over Myanmar) but I find the room itself to be clean with white sheets and scrubbed showers. (new towels every day, which might even be a little too often!) Last time we had room nr. 1A which was a hit because it had a front balcony. This means fresh air, but also a little noise. This room is a little more pricy though. You can rent a motorbike, but be careful to ask a little ahead as they sometimes have to get a bike (!). There are many stairs, but I would stay here again.
Oh, and across the street in a back alley is a bakery where they make fresh breadrolls filled with vanilla- paste. THIS has to be checked out if you stay here! Ask doorman for direction. They sell straight from the bakery, fresh and hot between 9 am and 3 pm-ish. Also close to the Lashio-Lay restaurant.
