They ask 18usd, I paid 15 without breakfast for a twin since their doubles were all occupied. Rooms are old and showing their age but relatively clean and there is no musty smell or had a cigarette smell like others in the area I had looked into. Bed's are nice and comfy, the AC is good and strong although the TV in my room had a problem with the remote where you had to put it next to the TV to get it to work. A bit of noise from the other guests is quite noticeable from the rooms and noise from the floors above are quite audible too, but nothing too bad.
The lady at the front desk is extremely pleasant and very helpful and knowledgeable of all the attractions in the surrounding area, helped with directions and other questions I had when I first arrived.
For an older place it seems to have held up quite well and although there are newer establishments nearby for the same price I wouldn't mind staying here again, too bad they are closing down at the end of feb 2014.
Stayed here 2 nights, great location and staff are very friendly and room size sufficient, breakfast was also ok but unfortunately it ends there.
This place is very unclean and this is very important to me. Bedding was stained, bathroom, walls, floors dirty.
Tv reception awful, door lock could be opened by any key and wifi very slow. Looking at what was on offer near by for at least half the price we feel this place needs either to revamp and get new cleaners or align their prices.accordingly. I also stupidly left my iPad in the room checking out at 2am and unfortunately "it couldn't be found anywhere" a re name all round as the owner is a lovely lady.
I found this place after been dropped off nearby by our tuk tuk driver. The location is excellent, about a 5 minute walk from the main nightlife and restaurant area. The staff are really friendly, which I always appreciate when arriving at a guesthouse.
What I really enjoyed about this place was the cool little swimming pool at the side of the building, it was not huge but it certainly was refreshing after a long day at the temples.
The rooms ok, nothing fantastic but not so bad, we had an a/c double room which was 16$US per night which I thought was a reasonable price. Would definitely stay here again the next time I am in Siem Reap.
My friend and I stayed at AFI from June 4 to June 8. First I was hesitant because of the mix messages. So we purposely booked two types of rooms (single and double rooms) to try out. Surprisingly we were satisfied and happy with the room, price, service, location. First we booked two single rooms and then changed to a double A/C. I have traveled around south east asia a lot, believe me, there are many places much worse than this. I read one message, saying it has metal bar windows, honestly for security reason I would rather have metal bars then without. What I like the most is the swimming pool. It is not the nicest pool, but for the price it does just fine for cooling off. We get cooked breakfast everyday. Overall, they get our votes!
The staff were lovely here, very welcoming. The room was not fantastic but ok and fairly clean. Its in a great location. The pool is ok, not much sun but we had it to ourselves. The breakfast is basic but you can help yourself to tea and coffee all day. I thought it was great value for £10 a night.
