Photos on the site are misguiding.Hotel is under renovation, rooms are available only on ground and first floor.Room condition is pathetic.Smelly furnishing, dirty linen, broken switchboard, leaking and cracking walls are the features of a deluxe room which I doubt it was. Looked like a standard room.Restaurant service not available only in room dining.Internet connection was poor. Overall the price they charged was way higher then a lodge. Lodge services are better then this hotel.Scary and creepy ambience altogether.Rather spent 1k more and book a better hotel.Hotel Tip:
Neat and good hotel with very helpful and nice staff. Very good experience at this hotel on this price range. We had a very great stay and comfortable. Our room was cleaned daily and hygiene is very well maintained.
I traveled to Ludhiana with my family to attend a family function and we opted to Gulmor as it was recommended to us by a relative who lives in Ludhiana.
On check-in, we saw a huge crowd of around 100 to 200 people waiting outside & inside the premises of the hotel. This was due to the hotel being the examination center of IELTS. This is usually the case between 1-5 Pm at the hotel.
We were allotted two rooms. One room looked recently refurbished and the other one looked as if it was the cheaper variant of the previous room. One had wooden flooring and the other had tiles. The linen in the rooms was worn out & it looked like the room was not cleaned properly before we checked in. The bathroom was average and had cracked basin, broken tiles & dirty marble floor.
Staff - The staff was the only reason iam giving 3 stars in my review. They are VERY helpful and accommodating. Right from the check-in to the check-out, the staff was help humble & courteous. The room service is a little slow but is manageable.
Overall - This hotel is more than 60 years old and has patrons who will swear by it. However, the property can use a facelift. Stay here is you want to witness old world charm. Dont expect world class accommodation and amenities.
Stayed here for about a fortnight whilst on business. Found all the staff to be incredibly friendly and helpful - from the staff at the check-in desk, to the guys in the restaurant, to the cleaning staff - nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them. The food was fantastic *all* the time; best food I had in India. The room itself could have been a little more modern; the bedsheets/pillowcases were rather worn, but clean. If I'm going to be on business in the Punjab again, I really hope to be sent back to this hotel as I have extremely happy memories of my time there.
Nice hotel with fine looks but Food is not good just opposite to Punjab's sprits. Very slow room service. They serve me half cooked food. Order was for tandoori aaloo. It took them one full hr to serve it that too half cooked aaloo with no flavours at all. Cleaniness is good. matresses are too uncomfortable.
Will suggest this hotel for sure bt arrange for food on ur own
