We arrived at Poppies last night. From airport pick up to hotel reception and room transfer, the service has been astoundingly friendly. Welcome cocktails and luggage transfer, plus pay at checkout, a warm reception. Upon entering the tatched roof hut, the room was cool and air conditioned. Having (straw? coconut?) roof, the hut does smell quite distinct, which we personally love. The outdoor garden bathroom is very spacious with insect screens installed on the roof.

Birds are singing in the morning. The garden and pool are very beautiful.

We can't wait to explore more of Poppies.

TBH we don’t love Kuta as a whole, however this place and a couple of great restaurants near by make this a very relaxing & enjoyable holiday.

You can not fault Poppies, it’s like you’re somewhere else completely & when you walk through the entrance you leave behind the hustle and bustle of the Kuta streets for tranquil gardens and relaxing pool area.

The little villas are wonderfully clean & comfortable with all the amenities you need including Netflix (which we used more than anticipated due to a fair bit of rain in the afternoons)

Drinks are served around the pool which is great and the staff both at Poppies and their restaurant across the road are FABULOUS. Breakfast was also great and plentiful.

We’ve loved it so much we have booked to come back next Xmas.

Our fave restaurants are-
Crumb and coaster (10 min walk)
Un’s (3 min walk)
Poppies restaurant (across the road)

This was the 7th time I’ve stayed at Poppies - superb cottages, very private, so peaceful and quiet - you wouldn’t know you were in kuta!! The staff are extraordinarily kind and helpful. The pool is magnificent as are the surrounding gardens. It’s restaurant likewise superb.

A beautiful cosy paradise away from the hustle and bustle with secluded villas and a lovely swimming pool. There is no noise at night and the serenity is just wonderful. Staff are beautiful and never stop smiling. A perfect getaway. You are close to Kuta beach and Poppies Villas have a stunning restaurant right next door where happy hour cocktails are available most of the afternoon at $5 a pop. The staff make you feel at home and welcome you as if you are a long lost friend. Made, Kadek, Kopi, and all the hotel staff are just so wonderful. Anybody looking for a reasonably priced Villa in the heart of Kuta need look no further. Just quietly Villa 19 was our pick of the Villas

We recently stayed at Poppies for 8 nights and had breakfast included in the stay. This was my first trip to Bali and it more than met my expectations!
Poppies is stunningly gorgeous and feels like you are in the middle of paradise!
It has a peaceful, relaxed atmosphere which is just what my partner and I needed. Attention to detail is exceptional, down to the evening ritual of staff replacing and lighting the mozzie coil on your veranda and giving you new strips for the plug in mozzie repellents in the rooms.
Staff were extremely friendly, polite and welcoming.
Sitting around the pool each day was the most relaxed we have felt in a long long time and there is no noise from outside the resort, unlike some of the other busier hotels we noted along Kuta and Seminyak.
Poppies is perfectly situated in the heart of Kuta with all the liveliness that Kuta offers.
We will certainly be spreading the word with our friends about Poppies - an absolute Bali treasure.
Thank you so so much!
Arls and Baz

Thank you Arls and Baz for such fantastic words of praise. Thank you for pointing out to the world at large the reasons why Poppies is the perfect place to stay in all of Kuta, and by implication perhaps, in all of Bali! Hope to welcome you back soon.

Never cold, but always refreshing. We have made it our habit to end every trip to Bali with a stay at Poppies. We don't like Kuta, but Poppies gives you immediate access to all the Kuta shopping , pubs and restaurants without compromising the quality of your stay.
