Chao Samran Beach is about 45 min. from the more popular Hau-Hin. If you have a car, it's actually a very easy drive. Hau-Hin becomes more and more crowded with tour groups, so, once a charming seaside town, it becomes something close to Pattaya now.
Chao Samran Beach was in fact popular before Hau-Hin (more than 100 years ago) but later became less fashionable and now only well-known among the Thai family vacationers or the European long-stay visitors. THe beach is nicer than Hau-Hin and the air is definitely fresher. Very quite and peaceful.
Chez Nous is very small resort with only 15-20 bungalows, each one is quite small with 1 bed room and en suite, minimal design (all white decoration) with big sliding doors open to the garden or to the beachfront. Very nice pool area with full view of the beach.
No restaurant, only breakfast, no room service. There're some convenient stores and restaurants in the area. No nightlife entertainment.
I give the location an average because it's kind of not near to anything but It's on the beachfront, really nice and quite.
The price is reasonable, much cheaper than Hau-Hin, if you want a place by the beach.
So I would recommend it to anyone who has own transportation. Especially the Farangs who is familiar with Thailand. If you want to spend a few days doing nothing and just relaxing peacefully, give this place a try.
