Im malaysian, and i found this hotel not as bad as others review. Clean room, front desk soo friendly. Even this place looks old, pools not maintained.
Might be previous staff looking for hotel which offered them high salary than here. If you guys, dato'², tan sri, got plenty money, This the right place for you to invest. Surrounding is good, big pools, far away from city. Please support this hotel and give them hope to breathing again. Love this place, but not for family vacation.
We paid for 3 nights at this place and didn't stay for even an hour. Trust the other reviews, which we failed to read at our own cost. Isolated area, neglected hotel with a filthy pool. There appeared to be people living in the reception area.
We have been lied to, and have been stolen on both of our iPhones!
So we got to the resort and we had been paying in advanced. But we still had to pay a hidden fee when we got there. It started with that “the manager”, a young Malaysian guy around 25-30 y/o, sent me and my man to a room with no interiors and filled with filth with no WIFI even though we asked for it specifically. They have literally speaking only WI-FI in the 4 rooms above the main entrance where 2 of the room is occupied by the workers. We finally got to a new room without any safety box nor any type of security after many “no we don´t have any rooms left with wi-fi”. Horrible!
We noticed already the first day that they had filthy hallways, empty areas where they could have interiors to make it look like a real resort. No bar, no restaurant, no one hanging around at this huge emerald green pool and in the whole perspective the resort just felt like it had been “given up on”.
The second day we went out for 2 hours. When we got back the door was locked as it should have been like we left it and the beds were made and the room were cleaned. BUT OUR PHONES WASN´T THERE ?! And there were NO signs of a break-in and they took nothing else but the phones?
From that day we had been in contact with the police who told us about this resort. It wasn´t the first time things had been stolen from guests and from the resort itself, the police officer even told us that they had been times where drug addicts stayed over-night in the property and that this resort has been changing owners already 4 times this year. This, the manager knew about! We couldn´t believe what we just had been told. That night my man went down at 5 in the morning since we couldn’t sleep because of what had happened to us. THERE HE SEE THREE MEN SLEEPING IN THE SMALL SOFA IN THE MAIN ENTRENCE! With no security nor cameras around.
When we the third day still tried to find our phones, my man finally got in touch with the owner of the place who were many miles away. Where the owner asks my man “what kind of person are you?” after he told that the phones had been taken by her staff. And there we stand with a filed police report and logic evidence that one or all of the four housekeepers are the thieves, with the confirmation from “the manager” that they were the ONLY ones with acess to the room during these 2 hours.
All me and my partner could do now as a sollution to this is that we can only say. Stay away! We should have done that too.
Staff was extremely friendly and was always ready to offer local tips to whenever I asked. Compound was very beautiful too, even though some parts are quite old, giving a run-down feel, which isn’t necessarily bad. However, the pool filtration system was not functional, so swimming is not advised. Also, room service was not given on the first day so the rubbish was not cleared and towels and soap were not changed, but I believe it was a genuine mistake on their part, and the friendly staff offered these items upon request. Bed linen was obviously not washed thoroughly as there were black spots and marks on the white sheets, but it did not smell. For a mid-budget tourist, this is definitely a good place to stay at comfortably, as it has the bare minimums of a hotel. TV was not working too, but we were on holiday so it wasn't a major issue. However, the biggest issue is with the location. As it is amongst the villages and forest, it was difficult to book GrabCar services, and booking taxis through the counter was usually twice the price of a GrabCar, so you have to be really patient or lucky to book one. Other than that, it was a great stay here.
This is not a hotel - it is a holiday camp for spoilt backpackers who are taking jobs away from Malaysians. I checked in with Leo (Nigerian-American) at reception who quoted me a higher rate (110) than I overheard the owner (100) giving later on. I was promised that food was available and even spoke to the "chef" a German hippy type. I was promised that dinner would be at 7 pm and that I should arrive in reception around then. I duly did after finding a room that was not too dirty (most of them had dead insects all over the floor etc) but this is not surprising as there is only one Malaysian lady employed to do the cleaning as the backpackers refuse to do it. I was persistantly told by Leo that my food was "coming soon" and this carried on until around 9 pm; I even went to see the chef in the kitchen who ran away! By this time another kind guest took pity on me and offered me some of her bread and cheese and tomatoes which was an absolute lifesaver as I was starving by then (and I have ME). The food was finally ready at 10 pm and they seemed puzzled that I didn't want it. The next day I decided to complain to the owner who said that he and his "volunteers" never ate before 10pm. So if you are a guest you don't matter to him one bit. The pool was grungy and discoloured and there were electrical wires and a socket plugged in next to the pool which was live. I have been travelling for over 45 years and this is the worst experience I have had anywhere. I tried to get a refund but hey this is Malaysia. DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO SUPPORT A BUSINESS THAT DOES NOT EMPLOY LOCAL PEOPLE MERELY SPOILT LYING MILLENNIAL BACKPACKERS AND HAS A RUDE OWNER.
