We stayed 3 nights in a family room with a balcony overlooking the river. The view is spectacular and the location convenient for the bamboo rafting and cycling, walking along the bike track on the banks of the yulong river, which we did every day because it so stunning.
The hotel has bikes for use, and can organise the hire of electric bikes for you as well, delivered to the hotel.
The owner, Steven's, English is excellent and he and his staff were extremely helpful to us.
There is wifi with several channels, and aircon in each room. And the rooms are brightly decorated with quirky and comfortable fixtures and furnishings.
The restaurant has very reasonably priced Asian and Western options, in a set menu/a la carte service.
We would definitely stay here again and we do hope to return to Yangshuo one day.
We stayed 2 nights in this lovely hotel and we enjoyed it!
It so much better to stay in yangshuo campaign rather than in the city, because these one is not pretty.
The view was amazing, people, even if they don't speak english, try to understand and help you. We ate twice there and it was good quality with reasonnables prices.
Careful, the kitchen close early (before 6pm) so we had to find an other place to eat and we are in the middle of the campaign so it was a little bit difficult to find a restaurant.
We can rent bikes for free so it was very convenient!
I booked a room by ctrip and they said we had a balcony room, but in fact, it is a panoramic room.
We really loved our stay at the Jade Mountain Hotel. It was our second time! We prefer it over the others because you have the view of the river and mountains from each room. The receptionist speaks great English and she was so helpful. The owner, Steven, is super nice and speaks fluent English as well. The cook doesn't speak English but she is soooo sweet and made us the best Chinese food with a clean kitchen. Dinner on west street is way over priced and not good... plus you always have the insecurity of cleanliness. We preferred to eat at the hotel most of our trip!! Food, great! Location, awesome! Staff, friendly and speak English!
Bonus, they have good wine and coffee!!
We rented gas scooters in the center and drove them to the hotel for the week. I think the hotel rents electric scooters and bicycles.
I was travelling with my Chinese sister-in-law and family, which is lucky as they don't speak any English at this hotel. There is a small bar in the reception area and has tables inside and out for breakfast (Guilin noodles are free but you have to pay extra for a western breakfast...I thought the noodles were nice). I was in room C02. The room is big with a huge bed (which was really hard yet comfy), a sofa and table and chairs in the window, which was great in the mornings to sit and look out at the amazing views! The bathroom had a decent shower with lovely fluffy towels. Room and bathroom were clean. Be prepared for a bit of noise from neighbours but not enough to keep you awake. Also, there are a lot of stairs to get to the rooms!! I really liked it here but the downside is that it is far from anything so getting something to eat was difficult so we ended up moving into the town. All in all a lovely little guesthouse with amazing views from every room.
We loved the view from our room and the location is very convenient for cycling and bamboo rafting, but the service was rather poor. The hotel confirmed to arrange an airport pickup for us, but it didn't arrive. When we tried to call the hotel, the person picking up only spoke Chinese. By the time we found someone to talk to them in Chinese, they wouldn't pickup. The description also said they have bikes available for guests, but they told us to rent them from a nearby hostel.
They offer reasonably priced and good Western breakfast.
