Me and my boyfriend stayed here for a week in January. We were a bit skeptical to stay here at first due to the reviews... however we absolutely loved our stay here! The hotel was high up, however there was always a buggy around to take you up to your room, which was handy. The room itself was lovely and so was the view from the balcony. The pool area was nice and the breakfast was good. Lovely beach area right by the hotel as well. Definitely recommend. Thanks for a lovely stay U Rip Resort!
We stayed at U Rip for a week. Nice chalets, spotlessly clean, all built into the hill side about 10 minute walk from the pier on the quieter part of phi phi. We were high up, worth it for the views so often used the free chauffeured buggie to take us up as it was a high climb, these were available 24 hours a day. It had a nice pool area, breakfast was okay, looking out over the beach. U Rip is right on the beach and plenty of restaurant's around it. There was also a fridge with fruit juice, cans of pepsi and bottled water, also packs of crisps, all free every day. I would definitely stay here again.
Far from the arrival point ( the last hotel on the right side - actually it is where all the shops are more expensive then the center).
No pressure for the water at all, the swimming pool dirty - almost green water, stuff not polite at all, the receptionist was really bad.
When we asked to speak with them manager she said there is no manager and she is the only one that can handle everything.
The breakfast - poor quality, we can find much better everywhere with the same or less money.
Amazing island and probably I’ll visit it again but for sure never again in this hotel!
This hotel is in a great spot in Phi Phi. Depending on where you are staying in the resort the walk to the beach is around 5/10. The views from the rooms are lovely. The hotel staff are very nice and friendly. There is a service to take you up to your room which runs until 10pm otherwise you have to walk up a steep hill.
The pool area is nice however considering there are not much beds, the staff allow people to leave their towels on the bed for hours which I don’t think should be allowed.
The price we paid for the week was very good considering what you get. The breakfast is serviced 7am-10am which we didn’t bother trying as there are plenty of places around.
The Wi-fi is AWESOME!! I’ve never been to a hotel with Wi-fi this good and the range is even better.
The rooms are lovely! Decent size and nice
Sized balcony. The bathroom is nice with a big shower area. The maid service is great with clean bedding and towels everyday. Free mini bar with water, Pepsi, juice and also crisps and snacks! It’s great!
I would definitely recommend this hotel and would likely return for the price!
We stayed here 3 nights and I’m really glad it was ‘just’ 3.
The resort is about 10min walk from the pier and all the busy streets which for us was great. Away from all the noise.
The pool was green, not really inviting.
To get up to your room you have a climb a short but very steep hill. Luckily there are golf carts that will bring you up.
The room itself was meh. They could do better job cleaning it. The doors don’t really close well, there is always a crack open for the bugs and heat to come in. The bathroom smelled like sewer all the time. Gross.
There is a minibar in the room (4 small bags of chips, 2 water bottles, 2 small juices and 2 pepsi). That was nice.
As for the breakfast, I emailed U RIP 2 days prior to our arrival and asked if they had any vegan options other than fruit. They said they did.
After we arrived one day e ate undercooked rice with overcooked vegetables, and the other day just the undercooked rice. The 3rd breakfast was better; they added some pasta to our undercooked rice.
All together: meh. It’s not HORRIBLE but it’s for sure not good. You’re better off checking other places that are around.
