I stayed in pop hotel on other cities before but never i've experienced this disastrous overnight stay like this one in Banjarmasin. Dont get me wrong, i really appreciate the spacious room, larger than - let say Pop Hotel Surabaya. Nevertheless the service was poor, the staffs were clueless unprofessional lot. I can point several issues. First of all i stayed during Ramadhan. After we checked in moments later, one of the frontliners visit our room and ask us what we'd like to have for sahur (fyi, no phone is available in every room so they cant call us for this simple question). She obviously forgot to point the question out when we check in. I requested for nasi kuning and nasi uduk w/o egg. But what we really have is nasi kuning both with egg in it. Oh well, i guess she forgot and i dont think it's a big deal. Moving on...
We got only one key, so when my husband gets the stuff we left behind we ask one of the staff whether we can get the spare key. He said we can, he accompany me to the frontliner, turn out we cant get spare key and both of the staff briefly argue in front of me as a guest. Not cool.
The one really irritated me most is the fact that no phone available in the room and the engineer is unprofessional. You see, one of the lights in front of the toilet is keep flickering and i need to walk to the phone on the corridor to call them several times. I did that quite a lot because they only checked the problem without intentions to make it right. Finally they admitted that they just change the light prior out visit and the lamp is brand new. They asked whether we dont mind to turn it off during our stay. I really was upset. The room is not bright enough then.
Be really aware that the hotel also located near building of swallow nest, so it is noisy as it can be. Thank God i only stay briefly.
