The hotel is trying to be hip, but has a long way to go towards quality service and convenience. Room was cold and pretty bare in terms of comfort and amenities. Staff barely spoke any English and were crass, breakfast comes as a fixed set with no flexibility to choose. Its an ok food set, but eat what you’re given. Location is not interesting — there is nothing around the hotel, have to metro or cab to everywhere, cab waiting time usually 10min. On our last day, the hotel had allowed a large film crew to the lobby, making noise from 6am onwards and blocking the whole lobby from breakfast goers. Instead of apologizing for the inconvenience, the hotel staff urged guests to get out of the way.
I stayed here for two nights in March 2019. The hotel has a good vibe and is well appointed, and situated in a quiet area of Shanghai. The room was very comfortable and the bed was on a mezzanine which was a nice touch. FREE beers in the mini bar which I took advantage of.
The only downside was the service, which was frankly dreadful. The staff just didn't seem at all bothered to be of any help at all, which was a shame, and has put me off re booking here in future
Everything about this hotel is beyond amazing.
This is a gorgeous property with a wonderful restaurant/ cafe/ bar and an extremely comfortable room. The staffs are friendly and well trained, every detail and corner in the hotel is well-designed. Most of the famous attractions in Shanghai were basically nearby. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Shanghai, I will definitely be visiting again soon.
With URSIDE as a superb choice to stay in Shanghai, who needs The Peninsula or The W?
I went to this place for dinner and drinks (as the reviews of the restaurant were very positive). I did not know that the hotel room was soooo cool - loft, all products are designer’s selections. I gave it a try and the experience was totally above my expectation! The books, slippers, drinks, desert...
I will come back again.
