The lack of ethics, humanity and of willing to help from this hotel really disappointed us.

After a long journey we arrived at this hotel with the only wish to relax and get some rest. The gave us a room(they said the only room left) that was right on the street and the noise was too much to sleep. We specifically asked for a quiet room in pur reservation made weeks in advance.

They refused to change the room or find another solution and told us if we don’t like it to leave. They said they will put the room back on the market and if it sells then we can get our money back. But they never did that and still charged us the full amount even if we stayed there less than an hour and then went and slept in another hotel.

We had the good intention to just get some sleep at Ocho but it was just impossible with the heavy noise from the street(big construction cars passing every few minutes and horns).

Writing this as we want others to know about the service quality of this place.

I’m so sorry that that was your experience with us. We did offer to change your room the day after since we were booked completely but we try to play with reservation and offer you a quiet room unfortunately it wasn’t a good fit for you and we completely understand . We are Always doing best for our guests requests as we did with you I wish you would stay and experience are wonderful hotel . I apologize for any inconvenience Blessings, Mika

Ilse and the rest of the staff was amazing and made sure that we had an exceptional stay. For example, we needed a baby bathtub for our 5 month old, and they had one in our room within an hour. Ilse also handmade my mother in law a cute birthday card and provided fun, personalized recommendations (we booked the private sailing cruise through the hotel and had a fabulous time). The location was great, right on the beach and the room was super cute (Instagram worthy if you're into that sort of thing) and the drinks and room service were delicious. There was also a resident crocodile living in the lagoon by the restaurant and it was exciting to look out for it and see what it was up to every day.

The only downside is that their septic system cannot handle toilet paper. Also, in the smaller bungalow, there is only a curtain between the main room and the bathroom, so if you are a shy pooper or like privacy, you have to tactfully ask your roommate/significant other/whoever to take a walk for a few. The bungalows are located near a club, so on Saturday evening there was loud bass until the wee hours.

We stayed at Ocho Artisan this past month for our wedding. We had 5 bungalows and the 2 bedroom house booked. It was an amazing trip! Can’t beat the location- walking distance to everything. The staff is so kind and helpful with anything our various family/guests asked for. Ilse (the manager) is the best!! They helped us book whatever it was we needed. The bungalows are just breathtaking, so beautifully designed and decorated. They have a beach bar and restaurant that had amazing drinks and food. Breakfast was included which was always delicious. They created a beautiful welcome dinner event for us the night before our wedding with buffet and open bar. Everything was wonderful! Will definitely be back here! :)

Our time in Tamarindo and stay at Ocho Artisan Bungalows exceeded our expectations in all aspects. We had wonderful meals on site (we loved the breakfast), and the room was lovely, but what was most memorable was the people. Because the bungalows is a smaller luxury property, you really get to know the staff and other guests on site. By the end of our stay, we felt like family. The concierge on site (Ilse) prepares you for your stay months in advance and is even more helpful upon arrival. The restaurant/bar staff, maintenance, and housekeeping all were friendly and lovely people. If you want a real experience living in the culture of Tamarindo, please stay here.

We felt so relaxed and so excited to experience each new day.

I can't thank the staff of Ocho Artisan Bungalows enough for an amazing week in such a beautiful place!!

Hello, Thank you for reaching out our hotel is beachfront a few steps from the ocean. Some of the Bungalo’s have only jungle view but if you walk a few steps you’re literally on the beach. We have accommodation that is on the beach as well, like our 2 beach houses. Blessings, Mika
