We chose this motel for one night after our long flight to stay in the neighbourhood of the camper rental. It’s fine but old and may look scruffy even though it’s clean. Plusses are the pool, free tasty coffee in the morning, balcony and spacious room. You might get annoyed by the planes passing by though if you stay longer.
Hotel with good price for value (75$ for family), very good location close to LAX airport (free shuttle + bus 117), if you just need to stay 1-2 nights. Hotel is older, a bit used, but you will find the comfort in the room - good beds, balcony with swimming pool view, for kids it's great to watch planes landing all day long on both sides of hotel!:-)) Free coffee in the reception, appreciated, many fast foods around (Burger king, Pizza Hut, Donuts etc.) Free parking in underground garage!
THE GOOD VS THE BAD
- The rooms are large and fully furnished with queen bed, 2 night stands w/lamps, dresser w/flat screen TV, desk w/ lamp, cocktail table w/ 2 chairs, relaxation chair, little fridge, walk out balcony, bathroom, shower, closet and nice heater/ ac unit.
-Underground gated parking lot
-It’s in Inglewood (high amount of black/Latino gangs)
-“Free breakfast” sucked! Little kid cereal and cheap vending machine Danish pastries (2 couches in lobby for everyone to share)
- Bathroom light fixture was full of mold – took pic and showed front desk, they didn’t do anything.
- Don’t use the free bars of soap they will give you rashes! They are from India and made from 100% vegetable oil.
The ONLY good thing I can say is it's about 15 minutes from LAX. When my husband and I and our 7 year old and 9 year old were driving from LAX in a cab (there is no hotel shuttle) I was having misgivings looking at the neighborhood. Then we pulled into the hotel and alarm bells went off, just looked like a dive. Gang guys or drug dealers were in the hotel parking lot with their extremely expensive car.
Walking into the lobby the desk clerk is behind plexiglass and there's a sofa, ripped and worn and a table with a microwave and a small table with a few chairs.
Going up to our room in the elevator there was graffiti all over the elevator and it honestly looked like something I imagine from 'the Projects'.
The room was clean but the dressers had no knobs on them, we found them inside the drawers. The air conditioning wasn't working. I told my kids not to lock the bathroom door because one of them got locked in for a time and we couldn't get it open.
We had to sleep with the balcony door open (we were on the third floor) and there was this really really loud screeching noise multiple times in the night, seemed like every 20 minutes. It was so loud it was startling my husband and I out of sleep. We couldn't figure out what could be going off so consistently, all night long.
In the morning we figured out it was the gate to the parking lot. We assumed the hotel was being used by working girls - that was the only reason we could think that the gate would be opened and closed so consistently during all hours of the night.
I was afraid to let my kids in the pool due to the state of the hotel so we didn't even consider that.
The free continental breakfast was one of the reasons I booked this hotel and it was in the tiny lobby and there was cereal and milk and danishes, that's it.
Do not stay here!
It's not the worst hotel I've been sleeping in. The bed was clean and had ac. The pool seemed a little dirty, but I think was all natural dirt (no rubbish). The shower was quite bad and dirty. The receptionist could use a little bit more of kindness. Really good the parking gated.
