It might not appear much at 1st glance, but it is more cared for than many chain/franchise places.
I believe owner/operator on-site. I recognize the Mr. from previous stays here. Room very clean, A/C excellent, essential amenities prepared. Fridge, micro, coffee - check. Pool is open and lovely. Ice, laundry working. Wi-Fi excellent. I questioned coming back, suspect of lowest price places. I’ll be back.
We stopped here in between Death Valley and Lake Tahoe. Perfect spot to drive and sleep. Clean room with everything you need. Make sure you visit the national park close buy it was stunning in the day and at night you can see the Milky Way. Rooms are nice but only negative was the A/C was so loud we couldn’t have it on when sleeping.
I read reviews that the hotel had been renovated. The room we stayed in must have been missed. The AC was so noisy we eventually turned it off, despite the summer heat, so we could get some sleep. The carpet was dirty, the bed sheets were worn through and faded. We booked using a popular hotel website and could only find a couple hotels to choose from. When we drove through town we saw several hotels and a few that looked much nicer. I recommend choosing another hotel, and using more than one hotel website to make sure you find all options in town.
Found this little Motel after leaving Death Valley and looking for a bed for the night. The room was spotlessly clean, the staff friendly and the location was great.
The pool was pretty chilly but we soon got used to it.
Next morning, as I photographed the quaint magnetic ‘do not disturb’ sign on the door, the owner noticed me and told me to have it - it was a simple, generous and very nice gesture and it’s going on the fridge when we get home. Thanks.
The room is dingy and sheets so worn out. Overall not pleasant to stay. Go elsewhere as there are many better hotels in lone pine. AC was so old and noisy. Person at the counter not very friendly as well.
