I would have been more satisfied with my stay had they not made false representations and lied to me. If you advertise something you should deliver. I booked under a Labor Day promotion advertising a Complimentary Room Upgrade and Free Parking. When I checked in I was told that parking was not included and would cost $50 a day and I did not receive a room upgrade (I checked online and the hotel's website had nicer rooms available to book so it was not a matter of availability).

I was charged a $49 "amenities fee" although no amenities were available because of COVID restrictions. As a result of COVID no one even came to clean our room. It's disingenuous to add hidden fees for amenities that are not even available.

Clouds of marijuana smoke were coming from a room in our hallway and although I complained to the front desk nothing was done about it. Guests also placed containers of takeout food with remnants of their meal outside their door to be collected and they stayed there for over 24 hours so the hallway smelled like stale fast food.

I called the front desk and asked if I could be brought more pillows (the king sized bed had only three) and was told they cannot bring it up and I would have to go to the front desk. I went down and the employee at the desk said he would see what he could do, and returned with only one pillow claiming he could only find one.

The hotel is gorgeous and had they delivered on their promise or offered even the most basic customer service I would have had a satisfactory stay. I cannot recommend staying here until after the restaurants, pool, health club etc. open and they begin offering housekeeping services again. I also hope their staff learns how to accommodate guests and makes them feel welcome.

The property was absolutely beautiful, the decor and design was out of this world. The pool room was empty and available, however the water was freezing cold probably about 60 degrees which made it virtually impossible to swim in. The fountains also make the room very loud so it's far from relaxing. The river is really nice and seemed very clean, however my biggest complaint is that the hotel is still using decorative pillows. I know that you cannot put these in the washing machine or dryer as it will ruin the machines and the pillow, because of this the only way to properly clean them is to spray them with disinfectant but due to its many porous areas it can be very difficult to clean. The hotel should follow the likes of Marriott, IHG, and Hilton and removing all decorative pillows from the hotel to further help with not spreading the virus.

I travel as a cruise ship nurse for Holland America and have visited many castles and hotels with lavish designs and unbelievable architectural creations and this hotel is nothing short of that. It reminded me of the Palace of Versailles in France for its rich colors, decorations and large presence. It is absolutely stunning with several halls displaying portraits of Highwood Gallas and actors in their Heyday throughout the hotel. The pool looks like something mythical from Greece. It is huge with mythical
creatures carved along the borders of the ceilings. The exercise room is huge and the dressing rooms lavish. We stayed in the Executive Suite - absolutely exquisite in design and
unbelievable in size. My daughter said it was like staying in an apartment because it was just so huge. We rendezvoused with family there and everybody was able to eat in the dining / living room portion with ample room for the children to run around
and play. The front desk and dining room personnel were extremely professional, courteous and helpful the entire time we were there. I will forever and always stay at this hotel every time I come to Los Angeles. It was such a unique experience and one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever been in– certainly the largest. I would highly recommend this hotel for its comfort, stunning beauty,
accommodations and central location to all things in Los Angeles.

This hotel is not in Hollywood, but it is everything Hollywood. If these walls could talk...

The history here... oh if walls could talk! The entry is wonderful. The staff is fabulous. Great downtown location. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Our window once opened was hard to close. Be careful when you open them.
The pool was closed. This is only disappointing because I hate when hotels don’t notify customers upon checkin that the pool is closed. My search criteria did include a pool, just disappointed that wasn’t a part of my stay.
