Heading home, we decided to sleep over in Laingsburg.

We were well accommodated, as we required two cottages.

The children's cottage had a double & a single beds in the room. Dstv & the free Wifi kept the children entertained.
The cottage has a fully fitted kitchenette with a four seater table.

Our bedroom was an open plan room with a very comfortable double bed, dstv, air con & heater.

We gladly recommend the Gold View B&B if you are in the area.

We stayed over at the Golf View in a self catering apartment. The apartment had adequate facilities and was clean and comfortable. There was a braai area and secure parking on the property. Unfortunately the airconditioner was not working and when we reported it we were told that they will see to it in the morning. Luckily the room had wall mounted heater as well. I and my husband found the bed a bit uncomfortable. Otherwise it was good value for money if you stay for one night. We found the history of the guesthouse interesting as it was displayed in the Flood Museum.

I stayed overnight in a single room. I was advised while making the booking that the room would be quite tiny. It was, but it was also completely sufficient for an overnight stay. The room was very clean and tidy and the reception was friendly.

We were warmly welcomed by the owners of this self catering / b & b establishment in an old family home which amazingly survived the flood for which this town is now famous in South Africa. As you might guess it is located next to the golf club and is very easy to find.
The room had its own entrance with space to park right outside the door. The heater was on when we walked in and it was lovely and warm - and the hot water was really hot in the shower as well. Everything you need is provided, beds comfortable - we are a couple but could sleep four - 1 double bed and 2 singles. Kettle, microwave and sufficient cutlery and crockery were provided plus complimentary tea and coffee. There is no bath and the light in the bathroom was a bit dim. The TV was very small and high up.
The gardens are very pretty and well kept. The security is good.
A very nice touch was having breakfast served in our room - no need to go to a cold dining room. There was no choice but it was a very generous breakfast, nicely presented. There is a table and chairs inside or you could have breakfast in bed! There is also outside furniture for use in summer.
