My husband and I stayed 3 nights and it is now our new favorite place to get away! The views from the Penthouse King are breathtaking and attention to detail in the rooms are outstanding. We thoroughly enjoyed the Sky Bar, cabana by the pool, and dinner in the Caledonia room. Shout out to Dee, Adrian, and Alisha who provided exceptional service. We will be back again and again, in fact we are booking our next visit now!
My wife suggested Valhalla for a brief birthday escape. Familiar with Innsbruck and Helen, and relatively convenient, I agreed. We booked for my birthday, a Monday. We set a 7pm time in dinning room and golf with a good friend for the following morning after breakfast. From moment of arrival, the tone was set. The staff was friendly and attentive. The hotel was tastefully laid out, clean and just felt right. The pool and cabanas were delightful... the entire package was a twelve out of ten. Very rare to give such praise - yet there it is. With its Scottish theme, and with my wife being Scottish, everything felt authentically like home. Drinks were great. Wife complimented the fish n chips (a first in America). My steak was great. Wine selection abundant and of a high quality... breakfast was equally of a high standard. Having visited Helen for many years, this felt like I had somehow been transported to somewhere very far away from the “Helen vibe”. I never expected that and this was a very pleasant surprise. Value for money was great and we will find another opportunity to return. To the entire staff.... well done and thank you for making my 64th memorable. To the ownership, which I didn’t get the opportunity to meet, thank you for your courage and vision. Keep striving to improve and building out the Valhalla spirit... I see and believe in the potential that is achievable through commitment and effort. So far so good. The secret is in the people. Never forget that.
This quaint, but elegant hotel, despite its size, has it all. Situated in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains with picturesque views of Innsbruck Golf and Country Club and overlooking stunning mountain landscapes, this setting is both beautiful and peaceful. Not far from Downtown Helen, the property is gated and very secure. And, as a relatively small hotel, every guest receives warm personal service. The accommodations are literally perfect. The rooms are spacious with a comfortable King-size bed, separate living room or den, two sink bathrooms with rainfall showers, ample lighted closet space, and a balcony to take in the charm of the rolling hills bordering Helen. Now add a beautiful pool, a well appointed dining room and a top floor bar with great views, and you dang near have it all. We definitely plan to go back in the near future!
We went to the Valhalla for our anniversary. It met or surpassed our every expectation. Complimentary champagne at check in helped to set the tone for the weekend. They took the Covid protocols very seriously which was also reassuring. We had a penthouse suite on the fourth floor which was gorgeous. Everything was clean, modern and the linens were excellent. Everyone on the hotel staff we came into contact with could not have been nicer. From phone reservations to bartenders everyone was pleasant and professional. The first night we went into Helen for dinner and everyone seemed oblivious to Covid protocols so after that we spent most of our time at the Valhalla. The pool was excellent as was the poolside bartender. We had a lovely anniversary dinner on the balcony overlooking the pool and mountains. When we left we felt like we had absolutely picked the perfect place for our anniversary getaway.
No need to go looking for a place to eat, the food at this hotel is amazing! We enjoyed the small quaint atmosphere and just lounging in the pool! We received a sparkler with our dessert when they found out it was our anniversary. The rooms were very nice and clean. The staff were kind and very helpful.
