This is the best Bed and Breakfast, and we would highly recommend it! Our hosts, Sharon and Butch, made us feel welcome from beginning to end. The impeccable
details and accents in every room took us to another world. We stayed in the spacious Paris room which was beautifully decorated, had a very comfortable king size bed, and an incredible bathroom area. The evening treat of lemon cake with blackberries was luscious! The three course gourmet breakfast was beyond our wildest dreams!! We enjoyed our stay and hope to return soon . Thank you for all you did to make our stay the absolute best!

Thanks Pat and Terry. We always appreciate past guests taking a few minutes to write a review about their stay. It definitely helps our business because potential guests do read reviews.

The Flying Frog was recommended to us by friends who live in Franklin. They raved about the food and the owners. They did not exaggerate. When we arrived, Butch greeted us at the door while Sharon was out shopping for our breakfast. He showed us around the place and brought us to our room (we stayed in the 1940's Paris Room) which did have a strong feel of Paris.
They are located a short walk/drive from the main street of Franklin.
The house and the neighborhood were very quiet and relaxing.
The next morning, we had coffee in the common room before heading downstairs for breakfast. It was unlike any breakfast we had every had. First there was coffee and juice followed by three courses. We began with poached pears with an orange & wine reduction and cranberries. This was followed by roast potato wedges and a cheese & spinach quiche, with a Danish pastry topped with jam. The third course was a pastry-cream filled crepe topped with raspberry and whipped cream.
As we finished with coffee, Sharon and Butch came out and talked and we discussed family, Franklin and food.
We highly recommend the Flying Frog and plan to stay there whenever we return to Franklin.

Thank you so much for writing this. Much of our new business is from people who read reviews like this and without them these people would move on to a different accommodation. We definitely appreciate it.

We have stayed with Sharon & Butch at the Flying Frog many times over the years, and it continues to be our favorite B&B. The Paris room is our favorite - the bed is super comfy and the bathroom is spacious and beautiful. Sharon & Butch are wonderful hosts - they made us gourmet breakfasts and desserts, and there are always new books to read. Plus there is a Little Free Library in the front garden which has good books. The B&B is located in the heart of Franklin. Down the street is an old theater, new restaurants, a coffee shop/bakery, an independent bookstore and lots of little shops to explore. We'll be back!

The location was convenient with walking distance to restaurants and center of town. The house was interesting and nicely decorated with memorabilia. There were multiple places to sit beyond the bedrooms. There were two big porches with plenty of seating and two indoor sitting rooms, one upstairs and one downstairs. There was traffic noise during the day, but it was quiet at night. Parking was convenient. The king-size bed was comfortable. The hosts were friendly. The food was mediocre to poor. It looked pretty, but another guest and I could not eat it. Our husbands ate it all, but said it wasn't the best. My husband and I have been to many B&B's and this was by far the worse breakfast of any, under cooked eggs, fried flat tasteless potato patties topped with a tomato slice, and all heavily flooded with overly thick pungent hollandaise sauce. Eggs Benedict is not for everyone and I feel the host should have given an option for something different ahead of time. The floor and baseboards in the room we chose were in need of a good cleaning. Dirty dishes left upstairs in hallway were not cleared away in a timely manner. Cleanliness should be a priority!

So sorry you did not enjoy your stay. This is one of maybe five reviews in almost seven years that was not favorable. We always ask in our confirmation emails and at check-in if the guests have any dietary restrictions and dislikes. We do not ask our guests what they want to eat but serve a different three course breakfast each morning of our choosing but also based on any dietary restrictions guests had noted. When I noticed you did not eat your breakfast I did ask if I could make you something else and you declined. The dirty dishes left upstairs in the hallway would be from an evening dessert if one was left by us for guests the night before and any coffee cups that guests use 24 hours a day. I'm sorry they were not removed in a timely manner. Our house was built in 1876 and the baseboards are made from a rough wood that do not take paint well and they always look a little gray even with white paint. An unclean floor baffles me.
