Well, this was at least my fourth stay here at Cumbres Suites. (See my review from February 2013) In the past I have stayed in the back rooms that are more like motor lodge than suite. I was fine with them though they could use more attention. This time I stayed with a friend for one night in the upstairs suites and enjoyed the spaciousness. The bathroom was quite small though and the sink doubled as the kitchen sink. There is no utensils or dinnerware other than cups for coffee. I was glad I brought my own items. We had access to the open downstairs area where breakfast items are available. All packaged and to me, not so healthy, choices. I shared some pleasantries with the owner, Kip, and then went up to our room. Once we were ready for bed I realized the room was too hot even though we had turned the thermostat way down. It remained 72 degrees. I went down to ask what we could do and was met with the rudest remark. I quote, "That's the strangest request I have ever heard. Open the window or turn the AC on" Mind you, it is February and it's below freezing out so I didn't think that's what they'd really want us to do. Needless to say with no further help or apology for his behavior, I now know I will not be staying at Cumbres Suites again unless it comes under new ownership. To get a clearer picture read ALL the reviews for this establishment. Any low scores came as a result of the rudeness of the owners and their quirky ways of handling benign situations.
