Pet Friendly? No at all, unless by Pet Friendly they mean, pets to be left out in the hallway or Bathroom and not allowed in the room which the Guest has paid for. Extra cost on top of the room to have a puppy stay too by the way (Goes on weight of dog lol). Motel? Seems more like a staying in a strangers house with them for a night. The biggest issue is, the Owner's 15 year old dog is stopped from coming down the internal stairs to look at you through the bedroom door by a broken wooden room divider, pot plant and a random book from the bookshelf beside! Its an eye-saw right outside the bedroom door, i might add. A sign stating you must take your shoes off before going in the room too. On top of all this, a shower that goes stone cold after about 2 minutes of turning the water on. There was also a big brown stain on the carpet, which they state is "Coffee", looks a bit more sinister than that to me... Before entering the room at all, my Partner and I were charged $150... Then to have a stay like this, was just aggravating! Do yourself a favour, and stay away from this house and find a proper motel

I am sorry Mahalia for what seems to be an unfortunate experience at our beautiful B&B. As you will see by so many positive reviews, we rarely receive such a review as yours. It may help to know that pet friendly accommodation has many facets according to each B&B. Yes, for puppies we do have an area in the bedroom hallway (tiled) for them so they do not have any accidents on the bedroom carpet. It is a matter of hygiene. True, there is a cost for guest dogs as per our booking.com information which unfortunately you had not seen. Guest dogs often require extra cleaning due to fur loss and other 'incidences'. I noted you chose to put your 7 month-old puppy in the bathroom. You had already provided your payment details for the room by booking through booking.com, so I do not understand why you were surprised by the amount. As you had booked a non dog-friendly room that had a shared bathroom, I upgraded you to a dog-friendly room with a private bathroom for an extra cost of $10 that you agreed to. Apologies that our room divider had lost a hinge which was only discovered that night. Our housekeeper had failed to mention it. As we have ducks and chooks free-ranging, asking guests to remove shoes is to help towards keeping the carpet from being spoilt from guests picking up what the poultry leave on the grass. Again, it is simply a matter of hygiene. It is a shame you did not let me know about the shower. This is the first time we have heard of it. We have attended to this by our own showering and asking past and current guests their experience with any cold water during showering. So far, nobody has had the same experience as you. I had apologised for the small coffee stain and am currently in the process of an insurance claim so I have no choice but to wait for this to be sorted. As you arrived quite late and had indicated you were going out, I did not want to take your time chatting as I normally might. I was wanting to respect your privacy as a young couple with plans for the night. I am sorry my good intentions were misunderstood. It is unfortunate you may find it difficult to find pet-friendly motels as they are few and far between here on the Coast.
